Hey! I'm a new kid on the block & my story probably mirrors many of yours! I have been “shakin’ N bakin-movin' N grovin' along in a very excting process of trying 2 get approved for the infamous Lap Band Weight Loss Surgery.  After a knee injury on the EllipticaI thwarted my efforts 2  be able 2  do "this" on my own, I got extremely depressed because my physical therapy was not progressing as fast as I thought it should & sometimes appeared like I was getting worse.  So I threw my hands up & went 2  my Doctor whom I had discussed Lap Band Surgery with a while ago. So as she recommended the Surgeon 2  me it just so happened 2  be the same Surgeon my cousin’s husband told me about a couple of years back & whom he had also worked with in the OR room (He’s an O.R. Registered Nurse)  So that was a Green Light & I Decided that I would begin the journey in-2  the preliminary steps 2  having the surgery. I’m well on my way in the process which began with a Seminar where the Surgeon I chose spoke & that was on March 18th.   So two months & 12 Doctors visits & procedures later I am now approaching the end of the process culminating with a Cardiac Dolbutamine Stress Test on Friday the 21st.  After all this my paper work goes in-2  the Insurance company for approval & I’m hoping for a late June early July Surgery date. (Hearts racing with excitement just writing this)It really didn’t take much convincing as 2  whether or not I was going 2  have it done... it was really just a matter of all the testing 2  see if I qualified & if there was anything physically wrong with me 2  prevent me from having it done.  I'm so fortunate not 2 have had any of the extenuating circumstances that most others have experienced . But recently I am seeing more & more traits of possibly having one or more debilitating issues that could really hinder my health.  And so far so good, my health is pretty good besides just being "big, beautiful & bodacious". Holla atcha girl!!!Lol.I still am going to Physical Therapy for my knee three times a week & am making improvements there.  I am back on the treadmill almost up to 20 mins. which is great because I need clearance from there 2  be able 2  exercise & avoid any blood clots forming in the lower extremities  after the surgery which could prove fatal. I actually found out yesterday that because my BMI is off the charts I have 2  have a Butterfly IV Filter inserted in my Groin a couple days before the actual surgery 2  make sure the artery stays in tact for the blood flow from the heart 2 my extremities so as not 2  form any blood clotting. So that’s my story & I’m sticking 2 it.  Will catch up 2  you later with more updates. Smootches Gracias, Valencia.
