Madison's Mom

My surgery was on May 7, 2010 at Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills which ment an early morning wake up for my husband Mike and I.  We got to the hospital (after picking up my dad), checked in then went to the 5th floor.  After about 1 hr. a nurse came to get me.  She took me into a "waiting room" where I was asked to put on a stylist gown, footies and a hair net.  The nurse asked me a series of questions and took my weight.  To my surprise, I had lost 10 lbs since being on the liquid diet for the past 2 days.  They started the IV (which took 2 attempts), met with the OR Nurse then in came Dr. Feiz.  He explained what was going to happen and asked if I was ready.  They wheeled me thru several hallways to the OR where I was asked to slither onto a tiny board.  I laid down and was given oxygen which was mixed with something cause I was OUT!  I woke up in recovery, droggy but not too sore.  The gas bubbles were painful, but not the incisions.  After I was a little more awake they asked me to drink 5 30CC cups of water-slowly.  I got 3 down then sat up and <blat> all came back up.  I felt so much better (gas bubbles) but now I had to start over again.  I was able to walk to the bathroom and felt really good.  I slowly drank 2 more cups and kept them down.  They moved me to another outpatient room where I had to drink 3 more and did.  I was released at about 7:30pm that night.  I went home-sleepy-but made it without vomitting.  I decided to sleep on the lazyboy couch which was a good idea because I couldn't really get in and out of bed too easy.
