    Hi In MN

I'm from MN. also I live in west central MN. I used to live in Burnsville, MN. Welcome and good luck to you on your weight loss journey. I started my journey in Oct, 2006, and I'm almost to the banding...hopefully, providing my insurance excepts me( so many hoops) but I am willing to do what I have to get healthy. I have chronic back pain, HBP, bad veins..... It sucks! But I'm patiently waiting for the Banding. I can't suggest any Dr. for you but I can tell you this you have come to the right place for support, they are so great here. Good Luck! let us know how it goes. Minnesotalady:D
  3. Welcome to the site glad to have you! Good luck to ya. It seems to be a long process but It's not too bad. I just got done with my final visit now I am waiting to meet with the doctor that will be doing the surgery. If you have a BMI of 40 or greater they will ok the surgery. then it's up to the insurance company, if your not self pay. Best of luck in your WL journey. Please feel free to email with any questions and I would be happy to help in any way that I can. Happy Holidays! Minnesotalady:)
  4. Hi, I would like to know If anyone has had a BMI that was so close to 40 and how it was for the insurance to cover them. The problem I have is that I have a BMI of 39.1. and they want it to be at 40 to be qualified . I'm so afraid of being rejected. I finally made up my mind to get the surgery and It would be a great let down. I have two herniated discs and bad vains and High blood presure that I take a med for. I wonder If that will be enough, I hope so, because it sure is alot to handle for me:mad: I would appreciate any info, thanks:confused:

    I can't wait until Wednesday

Hi, I am also going through the insurance paper work process, It seems like it is going to take forever! But we just have to hang in there and be patient. The way I look at it is we don't want to hurry them with the letters we want them to get everything down so they don't miss anything inportant that will hinder our getting the surgery done, so be patient, I guess. It's worth the wait! We will soon be on to skinny land! good luck Minnesotalady

    starting the process of banding

Went to my doctor on Friday, I got weighed and measured (height) I have a BMI of 40.6 so I should qualify for the lap band surgery. WooHoo!!!! Waiting to go to my seminar in Willmar on the 28th of November looking forward to that. My husband will be going with me. He's getting used to the idea of me getting the WLS surgery done. Thank heavens. I can't wait!

    Psych visit?

Hi, Could anyone tell me what all goes on when you meet with the psychologist Dr.? I have my evaluation on Dec. 8th just curious what will go on. Thanks
  11. Hi, I'm form Minnesota, First of all I would like to say this is an awesome site, lots of info here. I am considering the lap band surgery, my BMI is 39.9 I was just diagnosed with hypertention, chronic low back pain and R hip pain, probly because I carry my weight all in the hips and buttock area. but anyway, I have lost weight and it always seeems to find me, I'm sick of that! I am scheduled for an information meeting in Willmar on Nov. 28th. I really would like to get it done but this is the problem I have, My sister had the gastric bypass surgery done and she has changed so much for the worst I mean, she is going through a divorce, addicted to cigerettes and alcohol. My family blames it on the surgery, so I don't want to let anybody know I am considering the lap banding because I'm afraid they won't be 100% supportive, So It's a touchy subject, but I know I need to do something, I just can't keep the weight off! I would appreciate any feedback from you wonderful people who have been there and experienced It first hand. Thanks.. have a great day!! Minnesotalady:tired :help:
