  1. I had lap band surgery in August, 2010 and have lost about 60 lbs. I have had occasional spitting up which I understand is a side effect of this surgery. It happens most often the first meal of the day. I was on a 3 week cruise and lost 5 lbs. My doctor tells me this is one of the problems with the lap band. He had me have an upper G.I. to see if the lap band had moved, and it was still in the proper position but there was a small problem with slight esophogial issues. My boyfriend who had the roux n y surgery in November, 2013 has lost 65 lbs with no dumping and keeps urging me to get the same surgery. My surgeon has left the decision up to me because there is no major reason to get the other surgery. I would like to find out what other people who have had the lap band experience with spitting up and what they do about it. After one fill that I had I ended up in the emergency room and had all the saline solution removed because nothing, even Water, would stay down as the pouch was overfilled.
  2. Hello, I have been approved and my date is August 20, 2010i. I am both excited and nervous but know that this is the only way I can lose weight and keep it off. I weigh 257 lbs and am 5'6" and can stand to lose more than 100 lbs but I want to do it and stay healthy. My problems are high blood pressure, sleep apnea and I had knee replacement several months ago. The weight loss should help all 3 of these. I'm tired all the time because I'm carrying around all this weight and want to feel better.
