Hey met another gal online here that's gonna be down there with us. Her surgery is March 16th. Goes by "A TRUE PYT". i got her # and will be in touch. A nes sleeve sister for us! Lol All my stuff packed and ready to go! How early are you going to your airport? Like how many hours before your flighgt to get thru security? Just wondering. trying to decidewhen to go. My flight leaves at 10:30am.

I have my sleeve in just 6 days and today I'm noticing I'm sneezing a lot and feel like I'm coming down with a cold! Question is, if I get a head cold and still have it on sleeve day, will they still do the surgery?Hopefully, no temp. or chest congestion! What is something I can do NOW to try and lessen the severity of this cold? Does Zycam actually work? Load up on vitamins? Stay hydrated? Any suggestions? I am REALLY worried I won't be able to get sleeved. I already bought plane ticket, paid for sleeve, and am taking 3 weeks off work. I CAN'T put it off til later. Help! Thanks!

Hi! I'm Dinah and I'll be getting my sleeve with Dr.Kelly March 15th and be there til the 19th. Hopefully see you there! It happens to me when I eat late in the evening or night time and the food(usually meat or high fat/protein)just sits in the gut like a rock. So I try not to eat after 6 or 7pm. Good luck -

So Dr.Kelly uses NO narcotics?? I don't know how I feel about that. I take narcotics for chronic pain management and I'm sure I have somewhat of a tolerance.i want to know that they can be made available IFneeded. I don't want to have to beg or fight for decent pain relief. I hope this won't be an issue. Chances are I won't need narcotics anyway, but if I DO, I don't want to have any big problems getting them. Congrats on your surgery! Glad you're doing well and hope you continue to do so. -
You are having your surgery March 14th? Where at and which doctor are you using? Iam having mine March 15th down in TJ with Dr.Ramos-Kely. Hopefully you will too! :-). even if not, I wish you good luck and please feel free to message me since we are both to be 'March sleevers"!

Actually I am hotelling the 14th in San Diego @ the Hampton inn Airport Hotel.Then having Ricardo(Dr.Kelly's driver) pick me up morning of the 15th and take me down there for surgery.I am going to enjoy the alone time at the hotel the night before, swimming and wutever else.Already got the reservation. only $89 plus tax($100.00 all together) cause of discount they give for patients of Dr. Kelly.

I'm thinking I'm going to have some trouble quitting smoking 2 weeks before this surgery. I have the gum but am nervous to try it. Ugh!

I've wanting the lapband for 2 years, and then switched over to the gastric sleeve.(good choice I'm thinking).But it seems I was so much more excited BEFORE.Like when I first started looking into the WLS. Now that I know for sure it's really going to happen,why am i not as happy/excited? It's what I've wanted for so long.What's wrong with me?(Besides the obvious..haha)

Iam so SICK and Tired of letting this fat hinder my whole my life and dictate how i dress, what i do, how I feel about myself, and what kind of life I live!!I am so DONE being in this "fat" rut. I am MORE than ready to change my life for the better,healthier, and THINNER!

Hey girlie! so you are having your sleeve done with Dr.Kelly March 15th?? Me too! Maybe we can hook up as sleeve buddies! I will be so glad to see someone there that I have "talked" to.haha. i am excited but of course nervous too. I'm going alone.I'm very independent & don't normally EVER mind doing things alone, but this is a little different. Are you going alone?or is someone coming with you?

So after surgery (seeing Dr.Kelly),and on the way home, does he give pt.s adequate pain medications?(Mainly after leaving the hospital @ the recovery house and flight home).Or should I worry about bringing my own?(Like extra Tylenol or whatever.)

Time is going so fast. Soon it will be THE day I fly down for surgery. Getting extremely nervous! Can I really do this? especially all alone in a foreign country? Always been pretty strong and independent but having a massive case of "scaredy-cat-itis". HELP!

I too am going alone to San Diego and then to Mexico to Dr.Kelly March 15th. I too am scared out of my wits but excited at the same time. Instead of fretting and worrying about doing it all alone, I'm trying to look at the bright side and think of it as a holiday of sorts. Some time just for ME. Although I'll be in some pain post op,I'm just going to focus on myself for a week.So try to ENJOY the time for YOU and focus on the wonderful benefits you will soon be seeing from this surgery. You'll be home and back to the daily grind sooner than you think! I'll pray for you and keep you in my thoughts. Things are going to be great!

i' m taking 3 weeks off. I work on a busy medical/surgical floor at a hospital and judging from a couple past surgeries I've had,I think 3 weeks will be ok for me. Thought about just 2 weeks at first but I'd rather take the time off and not need it than not take enough time off and realize i went back to work earlier than I should have. i think people just have to try and know their bodies/themselves somewhat and try to gauge what will hopefully work best for them. Good luck!
