    Recliner or couch?

I was sleeved 4 months ago.with Dr.Kelly in Mexico.I personally found the first few days in a recliner much more tolerable than a bed, even in the hospital! The recliner I had in my room saved my life many times. The bed was just too hard to move around in comfortably, especially since I found myself getting up and down a lot to walk the halls, go to the bathroom, etc. After a few days, I was ok enough to sleep in a bed halfway comfortable. Good luck!
  3. Lost 75lbs in roughly 4 months! woohoo! 60lb.s to go!

  4. Hi, I am 72lbs down and almost 4 months out. Not a bad way to start off on the sleeve. But I've been having a bad last 2 weeks! Due to PCOS I believe I started bleeding June 21st and with a couple of interventions, the bleeding is much better now. Although the last few days I have been on ortho novum 1/35 taking 4 tabs a day for 5 days. The bleeding has actually stopped the 2nd day or so. The problem is that my weight has hardly budged these last 2 rotten weeks! I am getting FRUSTRATED. I believe most of this is due to my hormones going nuts and my body not knowing what to do....perhaps from such fast weight loss? Perhaps my body is being flooded with estrogen? (I had a D&C and received 2 units of blood June 30th due to the bleeding) Actually, shouldn't PCOS get BETTER with weight loss?? How can I get back on track with my weight loss and focus? Should I go back to a clear or full liquid diet for a week or so? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED, I'M LOSING MY MIND HERE! Thanks, Dinah (Hope this wasn't too confusing)
  5. Last 2 weeks have really SUCKED! Scale hasn't budged due to hormones all out of whack! Starting to lose my focus here!

  6. Hmmm. I'm wondering why you guys have to take any of the shots at all? I didn't take ANYTHING like vit.K, lovenox, coumadin, NOTHING pre- OR post surgery. Why would surgeons be so very different when it comes to this? I had no complications whatsoever with bleeding, not bleeding, etc. Since I've been losing weight though my hormones are going a bit crazy. I have PCOS and have been bleeding for almost 2 weeks now. July 2nd I had a D&C and 2 units of blood. But none of this had anything to do with the actual surgery. (Sleeved 3/15/11--and down 71lbs since then). I hope things get better for you. Bleeding is VERY scary and should be dealt with immediately. Good luck sister. Thoughts and prayers for you.
  7. Having issues with PCOS.Since losing weight,having more "female"issues.Had a D&C and 2 units of blood 7/2.And constipated since 6/26.Not having a good time.

  8. almost 3.5 months and 70lbs gone!! woohoo!

  9. I woke up this morning and weighed myself and low and behold, I weigh 199.6lbs! I'm in ONEderland! Now I know it's only one whole pound under the 200's but hey, I gotta start SOMEWHERE right?? Woohoo! Haven't been here for many years and forgot what it was like. Oh and I'm one pound over the halfway point to my goal! I don't think this has all set in quite yet, but I sure hope it does soon! Thanks to everyone on this site for their caring and support. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else! :cheer2:
  10. Just wondering how you're doing sister. Don't know if you're still on here much. Hope everything's ok!

  11. Hi, I had my sleeve with Dr.Ramos-Kelly in TJ on March 15th 2011. It was the BEST decision I EVER made! I was treated like a queen the whole time there and would recommend him to my own mother. I have lost 66lbs since 3/15---not too shabby. If you have ANY questions at all, please feel free to ask! I paid $5300 minus airfare and it was worth every penny!

  12. Well I did it! I made it to ONEderland! Woohoo! I haven't been here for probly 10 years! And one more pound and I'm halfway to my goal. Doesn't seem real yet,I still feel like I'm 265lbs(in my mind).

  13. I definately feel your pain! I was sleeved March 15th and I have lost 60lbs since then. Since April I have been bleeding every other day, then stop, then 2 days, then stop for 3 days then bleed 1 day, you get hte picture. I never when or where it will strike and it is extremely irritating not to mention somwheat unnerving! I also have had PCOS for over 20 years and haven't had a regular period ever in my life! Thinking of seeing a GYN but don't really want to. Haven't bled for a few days now, maybe I get a reprieve. Was mostly wondering WHY my body is doing this now?? Thanks.
  14. Ugh. same weight for 4 days. I hate that! But still learning to be patient.(I'm obviously not very good at it!) haha

  15. You are not alone! I too have inherited a weird body shape from my mother and I don't like it! I have a big gut medium boobs, thin legs, and a FLAT BUTT! I wish I had the money for butt implants.haha. I would definately get them! I hope as my waist actually does get small, it will be smaller than my hips.and make my butt somewhat more attractive. (ugh) haha Well, good luck to BOTH of us with the pancake rears!

    Is coughing dangerous?

I wouldn't be worried. You're 5 weeks and should be pretty well healed by now. The HOUR I woke up from anesthesia after being sleeved, I was vomiting and dry heaving with a huge amount of force. Imagine how terrified I was about ripping my newly stapled pouch wide open! Aaaaahh! But noone seemed very concerned about it at the time,or even after. So I didn't worry after that either. An d of course everything went fine and I healed beautifully. I would think you'll be just fine. But if you are still worried, contact your physician. Good luck!
  17. Down 60lbs as of today! And next week marks 3 months post op! Woohoo! happy, happy, joy, joy!

  18. Hello, I am 37yrs old and have had PCOS since I was 13yrs. I have ALL the horrible symptoms, hair growth, belly fat, ovarian cysts, and have never had a "regular" period in my entire life. Well I was 265lbs before I got sleeved March 15th of this year and hadn't had a period for at least 6 months (which is not unusual, I have skipped a whole year before). Now it's June 2nd and I have lost 56lbs so far (yay) but at the beginning of April I started bleeding almost every OTHER day. Or I would bleed for a day then skip a few days, bleed another day, skip 2 days, bleed a day, skip 4 days, etc.etc. What I want to know is WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?? It's like my body can't make up it's mind! I think I liked it better when I did skip months at a time! I never know when I'm gonna go through pants or underclothes, at anytime, anywhere! Very frustrating but also worrisome. Is there anyone else out there dealing with this ordeal? And if so, do you know WHY it's happening? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
  19. 55lbs down and 80lbs to go. It's so nice to be getting into smaller clothes little by little.

  20. AWESOME! Im soooo jealous! Been 5 days without a poo for me! Get so tired of this. Ugh!
  21. I have PCOS and have had it since I was 13 yrs old. Well lucky me I was sleeved March 15th and just so happened to start my period THAT day after not having one for 8 months! And now that I'm losing this weight (52lbs since march 15th), I have been having the weirdest "periods". Not even actual periods I guess, but like a full on "period day" a few times a week! It's driving me mad! (How many times can I write PERIOD in one post?haha) It's like I start a period every other day and then stop again. And this has been going on for a couple months. Kinda freakin me out.
  22. A little freaked out about losing weight "too fast" and ending up with a flabby, hanging, kangaroo pouch of a stomach! Ugh!

  23. We all go through it and get discouraged. But then we also GET through it and keep losing and you will too. Just hang in there! I agree with ATLgirl, increase the protein, water, and exercise and things are bound to change. ( I even eat food with a little more fat in it and it seems to help).GOOD LUCK!

    The Stall has been broken...

I believe the intake was the key to getting things moving again. Absolutely. Cause I've gone through the same scenario more than once! It's odd but it DOES work...thankfully. It almost feels "wrong" to be actually eating "more" or something not on the "diet" list but hey, miracles do happen! haha! Keep up the great work and good luck!
