    loosing slowly

    Hi I had my sleeve with Dr.Kelly March 15th, So far I lost 95lbs (in 5.5 months) But this whole month i Ihave been stuck in the 170's. I'm very happy with the current weight loss but there is no doubt that it is now stalling. First part of the stall i was being very good and sticking to my "diet" consistantly, but as I didn't lose much, I've kind of been getting off track and not making the best choices. I talked to a friend who had a lapband many years ago and she said to up my protein and exercise. So I plan to go to Costco and get the premade shakes that are 30g protein per shake. Iam gonna kick start this weight loss again if it kills me! (not really if it KILLS me haha). But I totally feel your pain and frustration. We can do it though! I have 40lbs left to go and I'm not stopping now! I'm going ALL THE WAY! And you can too! Good luck sister! I'm rootin' for ya! Thanks, Dinah
  2. Hello, I'm almost 6 months out and have lost 95lbs. I've done very well up until about a couple weeks ago. It seems I've lost my way . I've been stuck in the 170's for a WHOLE month now and am not happy about it. this isn't normal for me. I generally have been losing est.16lbs per month except for this one which has only been about 8-10lbs. I admit i haven't been making the healthiest choices. I haven't necessarily been eating MORE, my sleeve is well intact,but I've slipped up by eating no-no foods,:nono: i.e., sugar,bread,cereal, CARBS. I want to rectify this but it seems like i almost don't know "how". Sounds weird probably but it's like I need to start over and get back to the basics. But where to start? Should I start out with clear liquids again and progress like in the beginning? Or do a couple protein shakes a day with a small meal for dinner? Like I said, I feel LOST. I need structure here. I'm not going to let my "golden year" slip by making the wrong choices. I refuse!! I am very upset with myself for letting this happen.:banghead: I haven't gained any weight, but I haven't been losing either. I've actually been losing and gaining the same 3lbs for about a week! Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!! Thank you.:help:
  3. Thank all you wonderful ladies for the advice. I am going to try the 5 day pouch test in a day or 2. Hope it goes well, I just can't give up now when I'm so close! I'm going ALL THE WAY this time! I'm really glad to know I'm not completely alone in my feelings of despair. I just want to get to the finish line. Thank you all!
  4. Almost 6 months out and feel like I have lost my way somewhat. Haven't been making all the best choices and it shows(170's for a month straight due mostly to bad choices) I think I need to get back to basics. What is a good idea for that? Do the 5 day pouch test?Start back on clears for awhile for structure? I feel like I need to basically start over here. Any advice is helpful.)

    I'm 5.5 months out and sometimes I NEED to hear the truth as it is when I'm considering eating something I know is not a good choice, not people telling me "It's fine to eat junk because you need extra calories"or whatever the case may be. I would appreciate a healthy alternative being offered in place of the poorer choice. But I guess that's me. I figure after all the time,money,energy,pain, put into this life altering decision, I certainly WANT the truth. Good luck to all! We are ALL amazing just by being here!

    sooo many vitamins!!!!

    Vitamins make me extremely nauseous as well. I hate it! But the only thing I have found for me that works is to NEVER, NEVER take them on an EMPTY stomach! DO that and it's a for sure deal hugging the porcelain God for me. Since I don't like to eat breakfast, I take them with some yogurt every morning. So far it has been working like a charm. Good luck. (PS. I am switching to prenatal vitamins...one a day..period.not including calcium, Biotin, etc. but it certainly cuts down on the 8 others i was taking before!)
  7. This is really pissing me off. After being in the 170's for a WHOLE month, (GRRRRRRR!) I finally got down to 170.4 a couple days ago. Well, I haven't pooed for 6 dasy, and now my weight is 172.4lbs!! I swear I'm NEVER gonna break 169lbs!! So damn frustrating!!

  9. Why is it that if I drink water at night, the weight is STILL on the scale the next day?? Makes me not want to drink barely anything at all!

  10. Hi all, I was sleeved March 15th by the gifted surgeon Dr.Ramos-Kelly. Since then I have lost 90lbs (all post op). I lost 30lbs the first month and average 16lbs a month thereafter (except for one month when I lost only 10lbs). My problem is that I feel stuck in a rut. For the last month I've been losing very slowly.(I've been in the 170's for almost a MONTH now!) I haven't been eating MORE food but I admit I've been somewhat lax and been having more sugar treats than normal through out this whole process (butterscotch suckers that are to die for!) The thing is, I feel like I've lost my way a bit. How can I get back on track? (Obviously stop with the suckers) but beyond that. Like should I start with protein shakes again for structure? (I've only been having shakes very sporadically for a couple months now). What's a good way to "start over"?? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks a lot!
  11. wow! That is amazing! Congrats! I had my sleeve March 15th of this year. I've lost 90lbs in 5 months! woohoo! It's so great but I have 44lbs to go and i worry i won't get to the end of the road.

  13. Well I FINALLY hit my 90lb. loss! wow. 90lbs gone in 5 months! woohoo! My body sure is taking it's sweet time these days to get rid of even ONE pound. 4-6 days to lose a ound.ugh.Not used to that.

The whole time though I have been constipated, trying EVERYTHING just to be able to "go" every other day or so but nothing has worked. So I have been using laxatives every weekend to "clean myself out" as I work Monday thru Friday and can''t take them during the week.So unfortunately I can go like 6 days without a BM which is not good. An issue I'm having is the past few weeks, I am not losing like I was the first 5 months and I'm going out of my mind! Example: I weigh myself in the morning when I get up and say my weight is 177.4lb.s. OKay, fine. So I eat a 6oz. yogurt and a few mini rice cakes.And weigh myself say a half hour later (just for this purpose) and my weight goes up to 178.2lb.s!!! This is NOT normal for me! Usually after eating that, my weight wouldn't move at all, or go up maybe an ounce. But now it goes way up, even if I drink a protein shake or water! What's the deal??? Is it because of the constipation and being "FOS" literally?? (I also walk 2 miles a day on top of a very active 8 hour job.) Another example is yesterday, I weighed 177.6lbs in the morning. I had 2 protein shakes,water and 8oz. oatmeal throughout the whole day. I weighed myself that night around 10pm and my weight was 179.2lbs! Now I know weight fluctuates during the day and that's fine, but this is NOT NORMAL for me. Can someone PLEASE help me figure this out?? I'm losing faith in myself and having any more weight loss and I have 47lbs still to lose! PLEASE HELP! DESPERATE! thank you Source: 5 months and HOPELESS! Please help!
  15. I have a random, odd question. If we exercise a lot and don't eat much, apparently our bodies go into "starvation mode". If that's the case, how on earth do people "starve" to death? (Weird question I know but I am curious) Thank you
  16. I feel the same way for the last 2 weeks- month. I keep bouncing from 177-178lb.s and it is extremely frustrating.(as you well know) I too am trying different things to hopefully find someting that will work and get me losing again.   18. Thank you everyone for the informative replies. Some great information in there! FYI, I don't normally weigh myself several times a day and if I do, i'm well aware of the fluctuations. Lately I've just noticed my body seeming to hold on to EVERYTHING, even weight from fluids and just food.(and it doesn't seem to want to give it up!) (I do like the sugary coffee idea too. I believe that has worked for me here and there. Hey when you're desperate.....you'll do about anything to poo) Thanks everyone! I plan on trying several suggestions! GREATLY appreciated!!

  20. I am 5 months out and constipation has been the only real issue for me(it doesn't help that I take pain pills on a regular basis for chronic pain, but I truly need them). I have tried everything mentioned above all with NO results.:frusty: Lately I've been trying to do the miralax but for some odd reason it totally grosses me out mixing it with a drink or yogurt or applesauce. Im, really trying to get over that but am having a difficult time! Help! Isn't there ANYTHING out there (in pill form) that is non habit forming and will actually WORK for me?? :cursing: Gonna try 2 senna-s tabs and a docusate sodium 100mg or 250mg 2 times daily. Maybe that will work. If not, I may have to just bite the bullet and do the miralax.(UGH) But Lord knows, I cannot go on this way. I haven't "pooed" for 6 DAYS! Not cool, and not only that, but I KNOW it affects my weight loss and I'm getting extremely frustrated! Good luck to everyone! :-)
  21. My body is REALLY irritating me these past 2-3 weeks. I normally lose a pound every 2 days ,even a pound a day for a few days a week. Lately though it is staying the same for a good 3,4,5 days at a time and I haven't changed anything obvious I can think of. I eat probably around 600 calories a day, walk 2 miles daily (after an 8 hour active job), I know I haven't been getting enough water or ALL the protein daily for the last 3 months.(I would check my food journal but my daughter lost my notebook with the last 4.5 MONTHS of stats in it!). I've lost 88lbs in 5 months since my sleeve, while I am stoked about the weight loss, I am floundering with the daily aspects of it. I am getting annoyed and angry, to the point where it affects my mood sometimes. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong! Do I need MORE calories? (Obviously more water & protein but I've been losing without the min.daily amount for awhile now). Exercise more? less? Is it my PCOS? Is it because I only have a BM once a week due to laxatives cause I can't otherwise?(I've been trying EVERYTHING under the sun to have a BM a few times a week). HELP!!! What do I do??? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  22. Body being weird last 2 weeks or so. Not losing like I normally do.Not sure wut's going on but i DON'T like it!As of right now, Ive lost 87lb.s (4lbs in the last 2 weeks)HOPE THINGS GET BACK ON TRACK AND SOON!

  24. I too have woke up choking on acid and aspirated once or twice from it. It was AWFUL! And I had fallen asleep sitting up in the chair! When I was 265lbs i had a lot of reflux, but when I was thinner(before gaining that much weight, I didn't have any issues at all). Now that I've lost 84lbs, I STILL have the reflux. Must be due to smaller stomach? Not sure but Prilosec has helped SO MUCH! Hoping someday it will go away completely but who knows? Anyway, good luck! PS. the ads are soooooooo irritating!
