    Support Group in New York

Lisa - i'm searching for a lower Westchester support group too... my doctor offers one to all gastric surgery patients - but there's not enough "band talk"... the bypass folks have totally different struggles than we do... Maybe we should start our own?!
  5. Trust your instincts... the band is an awesome TOOL - but you have to use it... i just passed the 7 month mark... the first 50 lbs came off easily but now i have to pay attention... the easy part this time around (we've all had 100 rounds of failed diets!) is that you are physically restricted from over eating... I too was a bread fiend - I've given it up because it gets stuck and is too uncomfortable... eventually you do get the hint... (also given up steak and lobster... too chewy)... I also have 2 small kids - they deserve to have Mom live a long healthy life with them... Good luck!:clap2:

    filled to the MAX!!

I've had my band for 7 months - lost 50 pounds. 4 cc band - 2 fills so far (2 cc's and 1/4 cc).. my doctor (Aaron Roth - White Plains, NY) has a chart showing red, green and yellow zones... the red zone includes often hungry, gaining weight, eating more that usual. The Yellow zone is too tight, acid reflux etc. and the green zone is losing steady weight (1-2 lb's per week), feeling full and not hungrey... we use the 'zones' to decide whether it's time to fill or not... Good luck!
