Read your blog posting on your new scale giving you weird readings. I'm not surprised as I had similar problems with a digital scale I bought at Costco a while back. Funniest thing is that it would give me different readings if I tried 2 minutes later. Very frustrating.
I finally got fed up and bought an expensive ($90 CAN) Taylor model that had good review from consumer magazines.
Now my only issue is that it's so accurate that not only will it give me the same exact weight 3 times in a row the same morning but it has also given me the same exact weight 8 days in a row, down to the same decimal as I fight off this plateau... : (

My doc says one week liquids then one week mushies etc.
As for the surgery banding was painful but un banding was more painful because I had lipo done at the same time when I got my band taken out. It will be interesting to go through everything again as I get banded on Saturday and must go back to work on Monday and only one of my co workers knows about my surgery.
This time around I will have protein shakes for the liquid diet though last time I didnt have protein powder ( it is hard to find in Korea). I am already all set with powder soup at work for lunch and oatmeal for lunch when I am on the mushies phase.
Since being banded I have done so many other things like the band being removed, and a few sessions of lipo that I am kind of used to the pain by now though I am still a big baby about it and I hate needles more then ever. I can't wait till I can have a normal life again at my goal weight. Only 20 lbs away

Actually, it's 3 weeks of liquid diet followed by... 3 weeks of mushies. I still have a week and a half to go on the liquid phase and although I love soups and I'm used to protein shakes, I'll be happy to move on to a greater variety when this part of the process is done with.
Wow, 5 days till you get re-banded, I really hope this go great for you this time. I remember waking up after surgery 10 days ago and I'm not sure I'd want to go through that too often! It took a good 5 days before the sore throat finally went away. And yes, thank you for asking, I have lost quite a bit since the beginning of the liquid phase and thankfully this will continue into the coming weeks.

oh my gosh 3 weeks of liquid diet? You must have lost lots of weight by now! I think it is a great idea to be on liquids that long because it helps your stomach heal more.I am so afraid of erosion again I am going to try to do 2 weeks of liquid diet then 2 weeks mushy etc just to be safe. I am getting a different kind of band my second time around too so I hope it agrees with my stomach more. I'm glad your enjoying my blog. It will become more band related again next week. Only 5 more days till surgery

Going through the forums, I landed on one of you posts which led me to your blog. I haven't read the whole thing yet but I find your story telling to be quite compelling!
I just got banded on June 25th and I'm midway through a 3 week liquid only diet. Can't wait to start the mushie phase!
Anyways, thanks for the very interesting read and I wish you the best of luck with your upcoming surgery!
Cheers!
