I am 72, a retired school administrator with lots of "desk time" over the years, in addition too 12 years of college.  Gained some weight since military back in the 70s.  I write poetry, short stories, movie stories and fables.  My wife illustrates.  I live on a ranch, although we sold our cattle and now it is simplified somewhat, and I need to lose weight and get reacquainted with my old hobbies, fishing, hunting, competitive shooting, and so on.  Being overweight makes activities hard to manage.  I have excellent health, according to every measurement you can use except weight.  Imagine that!  Looking forward to the surgery and the weight loss.  My belt size is 56 and my clothing is in the high XLs all the time.  Shopping is not all that much fun.  My wife is shaped like a model, and wears small clothing.  She is somewhat concerned about my health as I age.  We are the same age.  Truth is, she has more problems with joints and so on than I do... but she has the low BMI... go figure.   Looking forward to talking to someone who has gone through IT.
