I HAVE TRIED NEARLY EVERY DIET WITH MODERATE SUCCESS.  RECENTLY, I HAD KNEE REPALACEMENT SURGERY FOR MY RIGHT KNEE AND NEED OTHER KNEE DONE IN NEAR FUTURE.  I AM HOPING THAT WEIGHT LOSS WILL HELP ME AVOID A SECOND KNEE SURGERY. MY LIMITED MOBILITY HAS ADDED TO INCRESED WEIGHT IN  PAST FOUR YEARS (APPROX. 50 LBS.).  I HAVE FOUND WEIGHT REDUCTION IMPOSSIBLE WITH MY PRESENT WEIGHT AND LIMITED MOBILITY. THIS IS THE MAIN REASON I HAVE DECIDED TO HAVE LAPBAND SURGERY.  ALSO, A HIATEL HERNIA THAT IS GETTING WORSE AND CAN BE REPAIRED DURING MY LAPBAND PROCEDURE. I FEEL VERY POSITIVE ABOUT THE COMING SURGERY AND FEEL THIS WILL BE A LIFE SAVING PROCEDURE FOR ME AS MY HEALTH IS DECLINING WITH THE STRESS OF CONSTANT KNEE, AND BACK PAIN.  THE INCREASE IN WEIGHT HAS BEEN DRAMATIC WITH MY LIMITED MOBILITY AND I REALLY DO NOT KNOW WHERE IT WOULD STOP WITHOUT THE SURGERY.  I HAVE BEEN EATING A HEALTHY  DIET OF SALADS, LOW CAL DRESSINGS, LIMITED CARBS  AND LESS THAT 8 OZ. OF RED MEAT PER WEEK OVER THE PAST 4 YEARS. MY WEIGHT HAS YO -YO TO AN INCREASE OF 50LBS. DURING THAT TIME. THEREFORE, I FEEL THE SURGERY WILL ALLOW ME TO EAT A  HEALTHY DIET AND FEEL SATISFIED WITH MY MEALS. AS MY WEIGHT GOES DOWN I HOPE TO INCREASE MY ACTIVITY WITH WALKING AND MODERATE EXERCISE.. SWIMMING WILL BE VERY HELPFUL AS I HAVE ARTHRITIS AND MUST INCREASE ACTIVITY WITHOUT INCREASING MY PAIN LEVELS. I LOOK FORWARD TO A HEALTHIER AND MORE ACTIVE LIFE STYLE.  I FEEL VERY FORTUNATE TO HAVE THE OPTION OF LAPBAND SURGERY AVAILABLE TO ME. MY PRAYERS AND BEST WISHES TO ALL.
