My name is Jennifer Smith and I have struggled with my weight since I was about 13 years old.  I have tried every diet and exercise program with initial success and then ultimate failure.  I have done a lot of research on weight loss surgeries and was very hesitant for a long time.  About a year ago I decided to really focus on getting something done and decided on the lap band.  I went through all the requirements by my insurance company, which took approximately seven months, but it paid off and I received my approval letter and that was it.  Due to the financial aspect it would have not be possible for me to have this surgery at this time without insurance so I am very grateful it has worked out and now I am thrilled with the prospect of me having a different life.  I can't wait.
