Hi Everybody! I have been so slack in signing in and posting. Things have been doing very good. I have had 1 fill and ready for the next. My stomach growls now, I'm talking really loud. I don't have enough restriction, looking forward to the feeling full longer. I hope everyone is having great success with very few complications. I have to remind myself, "this weight didn't get put on overnight and it certainly won't just disappear overnight. Good luck!

After reading your post, I am going to buy the book too. This really hits home to me too. It is great knowing that other bandsters have the same issues. I have lost 33 lbs, I had my wls on May 11, the last 2 weeks my weight has stayed the same. GRRRR.

I have had a little more pain than expected. I have not gotten sick but totally understand when I have had enough food/shake/jello. I'll be glad when my incisions are healed -they are sore.

GRRRRR.... I am on day 33 post op, I have been going to Curves, eating way less, being very active and have only lost 22lbs. It seems that the last week the scale is just hovering around the 22-24 lbs lost. Is this normal? I feel very little restriction. Hopefully when I go back in July he will do a fill.

How are you doing now? Sorry, I didn't reply sooner, I have been frustrated with my band. I am still happy I did it, it just seems the weight is still hanging on. I lost 15 lbs at my 2 week follow up, however I am only 22 lbs down today -a month later.
You are not a failure, it just takes a little time to get used to the new diet. Please keep me posted on how you are doing. Have a great day!

OMG, they do itch. I am on day 5 post op, I continually rub them. I knew that itching meant healing, hope they will be done soon. I look crazy walking around rubbing my stomach all the time.

What is the rudest thing someone has said to you?!?!

Wow, it has been great reading these post, now I don't feel alone. I have 2 for you: I have been going to the same ob-gyn for years. He has saw the scales go up and down like crazy. I asked him is there anything that would help me (meaning meds) He said" sure, duct tape. It really hurts when you rip it off" Hopefully, I will like my new Ob dr. 2nd jerk, getting a pedicure, same girl that has done them for years. Was talking about Lap band, this nasty man beside me says, "just stop eating" I shouldn't have been so rude, I just smiled and said, "just stop breathing" Of course then I explained that if I was an alcoholic I could never have it again or if I was a drug addict I could never have them again, however food is required to live. Then thanked him for putting his comment into our conversation. I'm from the south so I sure he didn't realize I was being sarcastic. Why do people think this is the lazy person's way? I am only 5 days post op and it has been very painful. I didn't come out of surgery skinny. Oh well, let's keep our head up and lose the weight with this valuable tool. Good luck everybody. We are all beautiful. -
May 10-14 2010 Bandsters

Hi, I got banded on the 11th too. I came home the day of surgery. Everything is going ok. I am still really sore. Ate very little today and going to take a full shower tomorrow-yay. How did you get along? -
Well I got banded yesterday afternoon at 230 (early) and they let me come home at 730. Everything went great. Now I am looking forward to having a 2oz serving of shake. It was a long day with nothing to drink. My mouth was so dry when i woke up, I chose the ice chips, they seem to last a little longer than a sip of water.

I am ready to do this. It has taken a while to get to the surgery day. It has been helpful reading all the blogs to see what other people have went thru. Of course I have already started looking at the plastic surgery blogs, that might be a nice, "you done it" gift. Have a great day everyone.

To Tell or Not to Tell?
Holtzclawk replied to 2beskinny's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have told a lot of people. I was tired of getting rude comments from total strangers and even my ob doctor. For years I have struggled and had tried many prescription meds, my ob doctor told me duct tape works well, it hurts when you pull it off. How sweet! Then while getting a pedicure, talking to the girl that has done my nails for years the man in the next chair said, "you don't need that, just stop eating" of course I had to look at him and say, "sure, just like you can stop breathing" I say, hold your head up and take care of yourself. -
Well here goes. This is my first blog ever. I am a little nervous now that my surgery is only 3 days away. The pre op diet hasn't been that bad. Giving up my diet mt dew was my most dreaded fear. I stopped cold turkey. I had a headache for the first few days. I have lost 6 lbs already and can tell a difference with the way I feel. I am looking forward to this journey. Reading all the post on here has given me inspiration that I can do it and that things will happen- Don't Panic! Have a great weekend everybody.

Any May 2010 Bandsters?
Holtzclawk replied to Quinny's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get banded on Tuesday the 11th. I thought it would never get here, now I am a little nervous. It is the right decision for me. The pre op diet isn't bad. I love the Adkins chocolate shakes. I have always hated vitamins, therefore not taking any until now. The chewable centrum's are not bad at all. I have already started feeling better and have lost 6 lbs. Good luck to everybody. -
