Hi Rubio5, I hope you continue to feel GREAT!
How are you doing with the post-op diet? Are you taking any meds? Have you lost any weight?

Good morning! I'm so happy ...I feel great! The pain is not too bad at all. It was worse when I had the galbladder surgery. I think it might have helped walking on the treadmill the first day for 15 min at 1 mph lol.
Yay you finally put a pic up! You look great. You're up next I want to hear all about your pre-op when you start of course. :-)

OMG!!! Happy you're doing well!!!!!!!!! I've checked for notifications 3 or 4 times in the last 24 hours just hoping you'd get on here and let us know you're okay. Hoooray, you're banded!!!!

Hi Skip....thank you so much. The surgery went great and Dr. Choi was super nice as was the whole
Staff at Strax. I had relatively no pain and hopefully tomorrow will not be too bad. I go back in a week for a check up and three weeks after that to get my first fill.
I'm SOOOO happy to hear that they lowered your price!! You must be exstatic. Please keep in touch and let me know how everything goes. I will be posting pics soon of my official before.....when are you posting some pics....hmmmmm? lol

Hi Rubio5,
Tomorrow is your big day!!! I wish you the best and may you recover quickly. Before you know it you'll be eating ice chips. LOL
As for me, Strax called today to advise me that they will honor the price of $10,500. Thanks to a little research and talking to people like you I was able to save some money. I confirmed my appt. to complete my pre-op on May 22nd and my surgery for June 11th. On the 22nd I'll finally see Steve and get the shakes, etc. for the pre-op diet.
God bless and I hope to hear from you soon!

Dr. Choi doesn't talk much but I think that's his personality. But if you have the questions he has al the answers. I was charged $116 for the Whey Right shake, coconut oil and three different pills. This was a price that Steven gave me....but then again I'm not sure if they are giving you something different. What I like is that Steven is there every Saturday and is there to help. He said he wasn't going to give up on me till I was in a thong! LOL He's a riot. I would suggest that you talk to him and he will be totally honest with you....he was to me when I didn't loose too much the first week of pre-op.
My sister is doing good. She is going for her first fill tomorrow so I'll let you know how that goes. :-)

Strax is charging me $11,500 but I've left a message for the patient rep, Allie, to call me because I've asked around and they're charging $10,500. On my consultation day Steve was off and I met with Dr. Ghen. The surgeon, Dr. Choi, didn't say anything to me regarding a preop diet. Dr Ghen and his staff were pushing shakes. It was an extra $250+ and I felt I was being forced into something I don't need so I didn't buy it. I wonder if I made a mistake. My surgery is set for June 11th. I got the EKG there. I have to go back on May 22 for blood work. I'll see my primary on Monday to do a complete blood work and physical just to be on the safe side. I plan to start a liquid diet on June 1st. I'm 40, 5' 8", 236, BMI 35. How's your sister doing? Was it Dr. Choi that performed the surgery? My concern is that Strax is not a hospital and people say it's a meat market but yet Dr. Choi seems to be good and experienced. Wow, May 14 I wish you a quick recovery. Please stay in touch.

Hi SkipinMiami, Strax charged me $10,500 cause my sister had it done as well. So far they have been great to work with. the dietician, Steven, is real nice and so is everyone else there. I;m on my last week of the pre-op diet and then I have surgery on the 14th. I'm starting to get nervous but that's normal. When do you start your pre-op?
