    Pre-Op diet/Fasting.

Good on you! I have 6 more days too, not including today. I have lost 10lbs and when my husband cooks I can smell it in my bedroom and it is killing me. Can't wait to start something more solid!

  3. Maybe this can help. I?ve taken the broth allotment with the veg?s (mushrooms, leeks) with fresh oregano and pepper and made a nice ?comforting? soup for emergencies. As we as some cherry tomatoes, garlic and balsamic to marinade or ad to green salad, and taken thinly sliced cucumbers and marinated with vinegar, water and salt. So I have the cravings covered (salt, warm, spicy). Two cups of veg?s is not a lot! Thank goodness sweet isn?t my thing!

    second time around

I think the best thing you can do is set yourself down in a corner and decided what you want more ... to be thinner or the food. No one can make that decision for you. Perhaps your not ready to make that decision yet. I am 60 years old. I cancelled 3 appointment consults before I felt so low that there was no other way to go than up. It is a struggle, no doubt about it. I have two libraries of cookbooks. I wrote a cookbook, I have the best stocked kitchen when it comes to food and cooking toys. Wish me luck, I am only on day one of the pre-surgery diet, and I am inventing allowable foods that taste good, spicy and comforting. Hang in there!

    Disgusted with Myself

Ok, so you are sooooo close to your surgery. I just started my shakes today (full day). I have a headache, I am so hungry and my body aches as I cannot take my meds as they will interfere with the surgery. My Dietitian said, "just white nuckel it!" She is right. I miss warm comforting foods. I just made some Soup from just cutting up leeks and mushrooms (allowed 2 cups and broth) in a pot with chicken stock, pepper and fresh oregano ... wow ... very satisfying. Although not too filling it seems to do the trick! I also cut up up some cherry tomatoes, with lots of garlic and a tablespoon of Balsamic to marinate as well as sliced cucumbers and marinated them in a solution of Water, vinegar (bit of salt). When you have that craving for spice or salt or something warm, I think I have it covered.
