Went to my lap band doctor today and she is so wonderful. We talked about so many things and gave me confidence. The first time I had it done I was told by my primary doctor that I'd lose 100 lbs the first year and that's what I had in my mind but lost 58lbs. I realize at first I thought it was a quick fix but it's a tool to help you and you better work with the tool or it's not going to work. So my second time around is starting. Reading all the blogs have really helped. I give everyone alot of credit that has lost and wish all of you loads of luck.

I haven't been on the computer much but want To say tomorrow i HAve an appointment with my LAP-BAND?? doctor. I have been reading up on in alot even thought i have gone thru it once before. I have a house cleaning business and work like a dog but my eating habits are out of control. I have been writing down what i eat and it's amazing the snacks i have. I am trying to concentrate on drinking water and it's hard for me because i am not a drinker. Wish me luck. What state do you live in? Have a great week. I see you have a lab. We had a balck one and than a choc. Now we have a westie and my son's shepard who is beautiful but alot of work. Take care........nancy

So this is your second band. I had my band of 4 years removed in Sept. 09. I am thinking of having it done again. I think I've learned what to do and what not to do. I had problems with keeping food down and then had slippage and had it removed. I have gained 50 lbs. back and am not happy with my weight. I have made a appt. with my lap band doctor and we go from there. It's not easy. good luck

Reading your post this morning made my day. I'm so happy for you...97 lbs. is great. I would like to lose 95 lbs. I went to my primary care on friday for my knee and we talked about surgery. She told me to see my lap band doctor and go thru the process and than make my decision. There's not one shirt that I wore last summer that fits me now. How depressing!! You have done really well...keep up the great work and it is work.

Has anyone had lap band surgery and had it removed? I have gained my 50 lbs. I lost back. I am home today and have been eating way to much. I have an appt. to see about having lap band put back in. Has anyone out there have gone thru this. My regular dr. is pushing me to do it again. Food is important to me. I love to cook for my family. I hate the weight. I am in a happy marriage (33 trs.) I want to lose the weight but it's such a big decission to do it again or noy?:smile:

The first time I had my surgery I felt great. I had gone to 3 different doctor's because our insurance was changed. I had very little counseling before the surgery. My primary doctor said in a year you will lose 100 lbs. Lost 50. My weight goes to my belly otherwise if you look at my face you would never think I was fat. Your kitchen sounds like mine. Lots of luck to you....My treat was italian ice.
