ha, Jack... you crack me up! :-) question: I keep hearing about it... what is this Holy Shredded Wheat?
-
Yes, I wish more doctors directed their patients here. I had no idea this existed until I tripped across it one day during my many searches online. Carlos, it is also good to see professionals on the site that are here just to help and answer questions. That says alot about you. :-) Welcome.

Welcome Chris! I am still not banded yet... i start my pre-op diet on the 8th, and get banded on the 22nd -- and there are many of us at that point... So, you will be a big help to all of us too! Let us know if there is anything we should be thinking about because you've been there. We will be here to support you! --Brandi -

"swamp ass".... That name gives an effective visual. -
I've already reported the thread -- or at least the inappropriate posts on it. They should be coming soon. :-) :deadhorse: = dead horse

I will pass on the this message/advice that I recieved from some fellow bandsters. I figured they were the best people to listen to since they've been on this site for such a long time... and as Sue keeps telling us experience speaks volumes. They said: Don't agitate the troll...

Reading the post have freaked me out ..help
beversman replied to DomincanGirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Just keep reading when it comes to this web-site. I too have seen things from time to time that scared the crap out of me. Like Jachut said... "problems get discussed..." Some (not all, and not anyone specifically) tend to post when they are having a difficulty or problem. That is just human nature... we ask questions when we are concerned. So, don't let that worry you. You will see alot of questions here becuase many times that is why people are on the site... to get answers when something odd (out-of-the-norm) pops up. For every bad experience you will hear of someone who also had a very good one... you just have to keep reading and ultimately, make the decision you think is best for you. Take it one day at a time... :-) -
You've had awesome results. congrats! I hope to someday be in your shoes. Below goal... now that is something to think about. I have always been good at losing the weight, but like many its the "keeping it off" that is the problem. Hopefully... I will someday have a story like yours. It is something positive to keep me focused.

Thanks sunshine! Hang in there girl. I know you will get yours soon, and we will all be there to let you know how the whole process plays out. You will have a whole bunch of people here who will be able to answer all the questions you have. I know I plan on asking a bunch. Who knows better than someone who just had it done? Its nice to know we don't have to go through with this alone. :-) -
Isn't that the greatest feeling!? Keep it up... You must be doing something VERY right!

I know! It doesn't matter how nice or understanding anyone tries to be with her. She just keeps on goin' -- boy am I glad she is the only one with that kind of attitude that I've met here so far. I just don't think it was right for her to be scaring that poor girl that asked the question. If that had been me asking, and I had received that response when I first started looking into the band... it would have scared me to death. She is so hostile and judgemental. -
I love your sense of humor. It is that upbeat, optimistic personality that I am sure is helping you do so incredibly well. You're an inspiration!

You guys have to check out this thread. I decided to post on it a few days ago to try to ease the worry of the woman who posted it originally. Take a look at the response. This woman is rude and ruthless. I just can't believe someone would be like this... http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=26021 I just wanted to give my fellow December bandsters a heads up in case you encounter her on the site. She could really scare the crap out of you with her "doom and gloom" opinions. -

I know what you mean. She is relentless. Apparently, she is used to having the last word and doesn't know when enough is enough. Now, she is just trying to insult people. It is sad that she had such a bad experience that she can't move on with her life. It's funny to see how someone can be so disrepectful and yet, still thinks he/she is making a point. At first, I felt bad for her. Then, when others started trying to reason with her, she just kept lashing out at them... even when they complimented her on her success. So, I quickly gave up and have been laughing at her responses for the past two days. She just keeps on digging a hole. What else can you do with someone so negative and rude? You just let them work it out... kind of like a child throwing a tantrum. I just feel bad for new people that run into her and don't realize that her's is a "special" case. They could really get the wrong impression of the band.

Actually, thank you for your courteous response, yes... I was asking so I could go do some research. Do you have some web-sites? Instead of picking a fight, that would actually be benefical information toward the topic of this original thread. I know you didn't have RnY -- This may come as a surprise to you, but just like my first post... I was not talking directly to you. There are many other people on this web-site. Although you think that the world (or at least this thread) revolves around you, I am sorry to report that it does not. That post was what you would call a "general" question... perhaps you might want to visit a dictionary and look that up. So far, it appears I have intelligence, decency, and class... and you do not. I, none the less, still wish you the best of luck and hope you someday find peace within yourself.

WOW... I can't wait til I have that problem. You have me all excited I can't wait until the day when someone looks at me and says, "Brandi, you're getting a little bony." I can't wait. Don't look at it as a negative at all. He just needs to get used to the new you. Stay where you are for now, and just very very slowly work your way down to 150. Once he gets used to the "you" now... it will just seem normal for him to see you that smaller size too. :-)
-
Since this is a LAP Band site, is there a forum out there for RnY patients? That would only seem logical.

KayDot beat me to it... I will second THAT! mmmmmm Margaritas Steph your doing great, and I keep writing down your "mad scientist" recipes to save for my future liquid diet dates. You're blazing the Smoothy Trail my sister!
