Levi - your not the only one, I have a case of the jitters too. but i am still excited... but nervous ( i think it is pretty normal). Steph - I dont want to go do anything either. My mind is so focused on this stupid pre-diet, and the finances... I would just like to sleep away the next two weeks too. :-) I just started my preop-diet today. Wow, there's that mental hunger! This is really effective for making you take a look at how you ate BEFORE -vs- what your donig now... and how you can make that a happy medium later. I do however feel like I am REALLY focused on the food right now. I don't think that is ever a good thing (to be fixated).... or maybe it is right now. I'm confused! ha

I've been puree'ing for two hours.... (sigh) sssshhheeewwww I'm tired. That was kind of tedious. I hope I get faster at it. Thanks ladies... (and my fellow dirty minded bandsters) ha

HAHA, what a nerd... That was part of my plan... i figured more people would click on it... and it worked! Thank you for the info, much appreciated.
-
Definitely girl, go talk to someone else... as sad as it is, there are all kinds of people INCLUDING doctors that don't have a clue what it is like being over weight. (even when they've study enough about it that they should know).
-
ahhhhh, good question

It is good to know there is hope and a light at the end of this tunnel....

I'm a fellow cyster! I have serious symptoms. Not banded yet, and I acutally found out about LapBand surgery through a medical journal I was reading regarding effective treatment for PCOS.... SOOOOO.... I am hoping it works as well for me as the doctors from that particular study seemed to think it would. I am to be banded on December 22nd! I would love to get my body back under my own control and not in PCOS Overdrive.

Hey girl. We are all thinking about you... Hope you're feeling better. Keep us up-to-date!

Yeah, I don't think it is an easy way out at all. Everyone here works so hard. I don't think there is anything else I can do, but man people can sure make you feel that way. I'm like you though... lose 40lbs... 8 months later... i start gaining it back, and BAM! I am back to my big fat self. I dont feel really good right now, and I know it has to do with my weight. I want off my medication. I want to feel better. I just get tired of them making me feel like i am doing something wrong. I know I am not the only one getting this kind of reaction. I like to get it out of my system on here becuase I know it makes me feel better to see that other people have the same thing going on... that we are not all alone in this. I figure other people might feel the same way when they see me freaking out. They can think, "Wow, at least I'm not the only one thinking THAT." (sigh) at least i can come here and talk to people who understand

Good luck girl! Come back soon and let us know that your doing ok. :-) I will have you in my prayers.

So, you had a friend banded by Dr. C too? That must be great having someone with whom you could watch the process. I took my nutrition class yesterday, and I have to get my meal plans made out and sent in to her sometime over the next couple of days. I hope this medifast stuff doesnt taste like crap :-) I have my doubts. ha -
So, is my family right? am i taking the easy way out? They feel that I am doing this for no reason, and that I can lose the weight on my own. They think that if I can eat like that with the band then I can make the choice to eat that way without it. I feel like such a weak minded failure. Am I just giving up? I tried to tell them that it was not EASY. I tried to tell them it was not a diet... it was a way of life, and it would help me keep the weight off... not just lose it. They said you lost the weight before... I said which is why I can lose it again, and the band will help me keep it that way. They said they thought that I was too mentally stressed right now to be able to handle it. I told them that HALF of my stress came from their lack of support, and by supporting me it would ensure my success. Their final word was, "You're making a huge mistake." I am so exhuasted. I just want to crawl into bed and pull the covers over my head. I am sooo tired of having them try to make me not believe in myself and my decision. I just needed to vent. They make me so sad sometimes.

There are two different December threads -- you can come check out. Here are the links! http://www.lapbandtalk.com/got-my-surgery-t25539.html http://www.lapbandtalk.com/december-bandsters-t25506.html trust me it is normal to be feeling apprehensive. I know I was feeling a little nervous about all of this the past couple of days. You will find alot of supportive people here though. Welcome to the site! Good luck with your surgery... keep us all updated. :-)

I have a pomeranian as well!! And yes, I think they can fly when it mean landing anywhere on your lap... ha (they are too cute) I'm not banded yet, but all the other posts ive seen on this have the same consensus. You can't do much (once you healed) to hurt your port. :-)

Yes, Erin is a sweetie -- and such an inspiration! It is awesome having a dietician who HAS the band. You will probably see me at some point that day -- you will be coming in when I am going into surgery, but we should be in the same recovery area -- when i get up moving around I will start looking for people names kelli :-) lol, that could take awhile... I figure they would put us in the same location though. Well, what a happy coincedence. I will definitely let you know about tomorrow. I've been so nervous about it all the last couple of days. i think my families anxiety is wearing off on me. They are thinking of every reason for me NOT to do it... I'm excited, but got a little scared thinking about it this weekend. Hope all is well with everyone! I am thinking about Ms. Carol today is her big day. (also saying a prayer for her hubby). Talk to you all soon. Brandi -
You're a lawyer? Do you have a band then?
-
Good luck baby girl!! You have a whole lot of people here keeping you in our prayers. You let us know how everything goes, and if you need any support this weekend... you make sure to could vent to us. We will be here!

deep breath sweetie. Don't let you food be a "super Hero" -- that is how I've always seen mine. To me... my cholcolate cake could cure cancer and tap dance on broadway. My food was ALL powerful! But it isn't and just think about all the guilt you would have after. It really isnt that great. Our brains just think it is... stay strong my december sister!! get a huge bottle of Water and just keep drinking all day. It helps to have something in your hand and in your mouth... water wont hurt you. It will help with the mental cravings luv ya girl!! you can do it.:clap2:

WOW!! How awesome! My name is Brandi by the way. We are really going to be doing things at the same time... lol -- what time do you have to be there? My surgery is at 7:30am -- i have to be there at 5:30am to get started signing in. I'm so excited now! I have my nutrition class on the 5th (they had to reschedule cause Erin is out of town on the 4th), and I have my bloodwork done on the 14th at 1:30pm. Then the 22nd is Band-Day. We will have to really keep after eachother for the pre-op diet. I am not looking forward to that with all the Christmas goodies all around, but that is half the reason I went ahead and scheduled it now. Might as well avoid the holiday treats, and what better reason could I get? So, where are you from? I live over in SE Indiana. I'm about 45 min from the hospital. Good luck telling your family... mine had finally conceded defeat and realized that I am getting the surgery. They don't like it, but for the last week they have finally stopped trying to talk me out of it, and stopped giving me the major guilt trips. Feel free to email me or send me a PM! Nice to meet you! -
unflavored protein powder recommendations
beversman replied to donS's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Any whey (you can get it at GNC) -- it mixes well with almost anything, and I can't really taste it -- you just a get a very very slight hint that something is there, but i think it is more mental than anything. I know I put it in there... so i keep expecting to taste it. (ya know) You can add it to Protein shakes, Soups, ANYTHING... is the best I've ran across so far
