Cold Feet... Getting banded 12/14/06
beversman replied to Cherie Berry's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey girl! You can come talk with all of us... Here is December Banster Thread http://www.lapbandtalk.com/december-bandsters-t25506.html We have a ton of people there who were banded as recently as yesterday, and they are all coming back to tell their stories. Everyone had had a very positive experience so far. Everyone is doing fine. I do understand the cold feet, and that is why I visit with the people there everyday to talk myself through it. Come on over and join us :-) -
I'm so glad everything went ok! Keep us updated. It is always nice to hear everyone coming back with positive experiences. Have you had very much pain? Are you able to be up moving around much?

I am trying to figure out the "liquid diet." As long as I maintain the same levels of Protein, carbs, and fat (and nutrients) Why cant I eat something solid... like tuna... or ANYHTHING? I would love to chew something right now. anything... I am on day 6 of the liquid diet, and I dont think I was getting enough protien. I stopped losing the past two days. Ironically enough... i dont think I was eating enough. I am supposed to be eating 5 - 6 Medifast meals a day. But that stuff tastes horrible. Its like drinking rehydrated vomit. yeah... gross. I have protien shakes (matrix) but they arent medifast so I was trying not to eat any of them. I have been eating my own chicken broths because I truly cant take eating that medifast nasty crap 5 times a day... ugghhhhh It is fotified with potassium and some other Vitamins and minerals... but if I take a Multivitamin and use protein powder... then I dont see why I need to eat the MediCrap. Does the digestion differ if you eat purly liquids -vs- semi solids? Even if they have the same nutritional content? Ohhhh December 22nd where are you??
-
5 down, 9 days to go on my liquid diet :faint: STEPH!! We missed you!! and GigglesTX (barb) So glad your back and everything is ok! keep us up dated. 9 days and I will be right there with ya girl. :-)

I figured out this morning that I need to look at my food/eating just like a smoking addiction. They are the same kind of thing. I think the over eating is MUCH harder to break. I never thought about my eating like that... but if you think that everytime you sit and eat something unhealthy, it is like lighting up a cigarette. There is a pattern, ya know. Even if you've never smoke and just work with people who do. They wait so long and then have to get a fix (smoke break). Same with food. You kind of plan your day around it. It fills some type of craving that our body has. It is social. People get together and eat... Food has even become a companion to me. It is there with me when i watch movies. It is there when I'm bored and need something to do. It is a security blanket. When you don't fit it, what do all people have in common? For me... eating! Everyone else is going it. 10 more days for me.... Steph!! hope your doing well young lady! chubster808 -- We will be thinking about you tomorrow :-) bandiva -- the surgery, i've seen three or four other videos and none were quite that messy. this one posted here did not flow nearly as smoothly as i've seen the other. They didnt worry me at all. This one made me kind of queesy. I think the surgeon was having a bad day, OR had not done as many as some other docs... mystique32 -- get on that Vitamin C girl!! I doubt they will operate if you ill :-) thats just for your own saftey. Good luck hope your son gets feelin better soon.
-
Good luck honey!! I know you're doing great. Thank you for cheering us all on. You've got all the experience. So, keep passing on the tips! :-) How is THAT for pressure?? hehe
-
your doctor should have prescribed you anti-nauesa medication in advance. I know mine already did. That and the pain meds. It was basically a "just in case" -- but it is nice to have them there if you need them. Call your Dr. and make sure they give you somthing for the nausea. You do NOT want to be throwing up the first couple of weeks. There is too much of a risk for problems. Your tummy needs to be resting :-)
-
Steph, I'm so excited for you girl. Make sure to get back on here as soon as you can to let us know your ok. :-) Good luck to everyone with a "big day" tomorrow. Don't be away long! :-)

I was on the other thread. Are we all just going to start posting here? It would be much easier! Here is what I wrote yesterday: Steph, Yes ALL liquids... for two weeks -- WOW, not easy....:faint: BUT it is day two and I am a trooper so far... only 12 more to go! I just stopped typing to go weigh myself... just for kicks... OMG I've lost 7 lbs!! :omg: Sure it was probably Water, but that is 7 lbs since Tuesday!! YEAH!!! I've already had 50+ ounces of water today... so i know im not dehydrated. Kick Ass! ------------------------ Nat - The Califlower potatoes are pretty awesome if your not allowed "white" carbs. They are definitely NOT real potatos... no matter how much you try to spice them up like it. BUT they are pretty darn good. I liked them alot. I did the Atkins diet last year and lost about 50 lbs. I used to eat them all the time with some type of meat... it made my brain happier... like I was still getting some potatos... hehe... "Might Warrior":fencing: :boxing: :xena_banana: ------------------------- Off to eat some more soup!! P.S. Ive lost 2 more pounds since yesterday... how the heck does THAT work. That's 9 lbs. BYE BYE WATER!

I want to puree some different foods and freeze individual portions. I remember reading that an Ice Cube tray is perfect for this, but i can't rembmer how many ounces/cups = 1 individual Ice Cube Does anyone know?

beversman replied to ser123's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a TWO week liquid diet... Im on day two... HA -- no it i NOT easy. You can do it though... I know I am going to be able to do it. You can to! I won't lie to you. It sucks. BUT it will be worth it to have a successful surgery and a healthy new life. (only 12 more days to go for me!) -
I'm not there yet, but I definitely understand feeling down and disappointed. I can't offer alot of advice since I have not been there yet myself, but I just wanted you to know that I was thinking about you... and I know that you're going to reach your goals. You are already 30 lbs closer!! You're doing awesome girl. Just keep talking :-) We are here for ya!

http://store.bariatriceating.com/index.html Just wanted to make sure all of my December girls knew about this web-site. Excellent prices, and selection for many Protein products! Plus she sends free "gifts" (samples with each purchase). The Before and After Pics there are also very inspirational. I'm looking at them right now thinking, " I can't wait!" (sigh)

Yeah!!! I'm glue! (Wait....Does that mean I'm tacky?) hehehe Yeah, I know. Reeeeally bad joke. :-) at least i made myself laugh Thank you Nathalie! I don't know what I would do without you girls here. I just keep reading and keep motivating myself. I feel like my own personal cheerleader (and I've got the pigtails to prove it!_ Oh, my family seems to have chilled out after they made me break down the other day. Maybe the fact that they saw how hard they are making all of this finally sunk in... im not holding my breath, but I've brought it up a few time over the past two days, and they seem to have a bit different attitude. (or at least they aren't expressing it anymore) What a relief! My family is so freakin' stressful... no WONDER im fat! Oh wait... it was all the eating that did that... CRAP!
