    Dukan diet

I have completed day 4 of the Dukan diet - all protein and am not finding it difficult at all to follow - never starving that's for sure and since i'm quite creative in the kitchen with spices and such am not bored with the food yet. Will follow up in a few days to let you know how i'm doing.

    front of thighs

Hello everybody. I am getting outdoors here in Toronto Canada as the weather is improving. I went for a walk today though quite moderate. I am still on my pain meds from my recent jaw surgery but improving slightly. the front of my thighs are quite jiggly and yes cellulite - ish, Qny recommendations to reduce this troublesome spot?, hamstrings pretty nice as are calves, but top front of thighs -ughhh. Any suggestion would be helpful and most appreciated. I do like walking and if it is suggested some running. intervals? I have been out of the exercise game for a while aside for a few months of zumba over the winter.

    front of thighs

thanks for the 411. I had completely forgotten about torturous squats and lunges - i'll see if i can force myself to do them, perhaps i'll start at a very low repetition and slowly work myself up. thanks for your reply!

    Puking :)

You need to speak to your surgeon's office and let them know exactly what is happening.
  10. It seems like quite a few of the quick loss diets are protein based. I am doing the dukan diet, started yesterday - just protein. so far I'm okay with it as I have several different types of protein during the day and am really taking care to spice them up to keep it interesting. the gas you're experiencing will last for a while but eventually it does get better. the gas for me was beyond painful and after several gas medications i finally settled on maalox and that was the only one that worked for me (i ran out to 24 hr pharmacy to get it at 6 in the morning cuz i couldn't take the pain anymore). I will be going for a fill shortly as i am really giving it a 110% to get my weight off before the summer. If you have any concerns, please post or email me.

    Dukan diet

hello everyone, I have been to my oral surgeon today regarding my jaw surgery that i had 3 weeks and 3 days ago and I am okay to move on to mushies, solid foods won't be allowed for another 3 weeks. I have decided to do just protein for a few days and probably less than 5 carbs per days as per the Dukan diet. I will give it a test run to see if I can get my weight moving again as it has stalled even though I haven't had much to eat. I will let everyone know if this is working out as it is a bit of a challenge seeing as things have to be mushy however meatballs will be a nice choice and i am allowed to have low carb catsup and condiments such as mustard.

    salads

need to advertise, is that for me
  13. I love them but don't have a desire to eat them everyday. today I had that soup again as i am still on liquids and i thought i would never see another room in the house today but the bathroom. My mother makes several things with beets, of course borsch soup (traditional Russian soup) which I know how to make as well and another favourite is a salad called vinaigrette with sliced boiled beets, diced boiled potatoes, uncooked sauerkraut, sliced onions and kidney beans with a dressing of oil and vinegar - for me it's YUMMY! I will be returning to Atkins when I can go back to solid foods however for a few days while I am partially unfilled I am going to have a few of my favourite non atkins foods and thereafter once i am back on Atkins, once a week i will have my usual indulgence. i must try your mother's beet recipe.
  14. warning from personal experience; THIS CAN LITERALLY GO RIGHT THROUGH YOU IN ABOUT 20 MINUTES. DISCLAIMER: I am not a health practitioner of any kind. I am simply putting forth something I tried for myself - the 1st I used today and second - the remedy that was used by a relative. Maybe even speaking to your doctor first would be a good idea. I never saw anything work that quickly so maybe I had too much of it. 1st. Here in Toronto Canada we have every conceivable food of the world available here because we are so multicultural. In Eastern European delicatessens such as Polish, Russian or Ukrainian there are packed in tetra boxes clear Soups. One type is clear beet Soup. I had 2 1/2 cups of that soup this afternoon in desperation. Had tried all sorts of commercial laxatives up until a few days ago and nothing really worked well. 1 week of constipation gone within 1 hour of having the 2 1/2 cups (I am only using this amount as a reference because I had 2 large mug fulls because i like the soup and then measured it to be 2 1/2 cups for calorie counting). I am first generation Eastern European so grew up with borscht, rye bread and other Slavic foods that I personally enjoy. 2nd. boiled beets is a remedy that i had forgotten about but had heard of quite some time ago that cured a relative of chronic constipation. She now eats several boiled beets in the evening (she usually prepares a pot at a time) and no longer suffers from previously painful constipation. From what I remember she boils them with the skin on after they have been most thoroughly washed. She peels 1 or 2 at night (2 if quite small) and 1 if bigger. I think this is probably based on personal circumstances such as diet? severity of constipation? I have included a link with natural remedies that I found on the internet - quite an interesting article. liquid plumber to the rescue" or "Drano" for humans. tee hee hee

    Banded April 12

it's gas pain in the shoulder, eventually it will go away
  19. Isn't that the worst feeling in the world, when you have to go to an office that you don't want to go to? I have the same feeling with my family doctor sometimes, not necessarily her but her secretary whom you never know if she is going to say hi back to you on any given day - so uncomfortable. The clinic that I went to for my band surgery i met the doctor for about 2 minutes and he had absolutely no bedside manner - i felt disappointed and this was minutes before going in for surgery. i have never seen him since and have only met 1 nice fill nurse there whom luckily i've had for fills the last few times. This certainly is a money making don't give a hoot about the patients business. I am still glad i have my band - the doctor who did the operation has a good reputation but i don't care if i never see him again.
  20. congratulations! You're now part of "Band Nation", The part about your 8 month old hit me right in the stomach. I love yellow roses! What a cute thing of your hubster to do! Please please remember to take it easy during recovery, you'll start to feel better in a few days but don't over exert yourself. Welcome to your new beginning!

    Hi

Welcome, it's nice to hear you are doing well. As far as that other unmentionable problem, you can search "constipation" and you will see the posts and suggestions which included medical aids and natural aids.
  22. glad to see things have improved for you - great news! I guess we don't automatically get an email notice anymore when there is a new post in a thread that we have posted in. I better check my settings. anyway, so glad to hear things are better now!
  23. Gee, I hope things improve or have already improved since you posted - sounds like a pretty rough and unpleasant time. the care you received in Bangalore did sound very sensitive to your needs, how nice. Take care and post back when you feel better.
  24. go to the doctor or hospital. Here in Canada it is free for hospital and doctor so I am saying it from that perspective. I would be at the doctor like tomorrow right in the morning - i don't know why you didn't go weeks ago: I would have a nervous breakdown already. do you have emergency walk in clinics open 24 hours that you can go to?
