    Love this forum!

:thumbup:Glad to hear it! I've been on this forum for a little over 2 weeks and it has really helped with answers to all the post op feelings or uncomfortableness. As soon as you go on here you realize that everybody is going or has gone through the same things - makes a HUGE difference.

    eggplant recipes?

Hello, to make a nice eggplant parmigiana like a lasagna, I microwave the eggplant after I have cut it up lengthwise for about 5 minutes (about 4 long pieces), lightly fry with pam cooking spray so there are some nice char marks, layer with crushed tomatoes (they need a bit of artificial sugar) or low fat spaghetti sauce, low fat mozzarella cheese, bake in oven for about 10 minutes on 350 or even just leave on stove on low setting for about half an hour. I usually put a bit of grated parmesan cheese over the top. You may need to tweak or alter cooking times. The eggplant should be pretty soft after you take it out of the microwave or it won't taste good.

    Hello all from Australia

This forum is quite fabulous - so much support and attention from others - it's a God send. I have relatives in Australia and would like to maybe visit someday. Is the weather turning colder now?

    Afraid to eat...

Hello, hope you are doing okay. I went to Slimband in Toronto and they gave me a binder to take home which is very specific about eating. 1st 5 days clear fluid (broth, jello), next seven days cream soups, yogurt, smoothies and meal replacement shakes, third week mushed up food like baby food consistency and then solid foods in small bites - hope this helps.

    @`~~ May 2010 Workout Challenge @,~~

Hello, glad to see us all sticking to our challenge no matter how challenging it is (no pun intended). I did 25 minutes of walking, 1 hour yardwork and 40 minutes housework. lol:tongue:
  9.:sad:Absolutely had it and it does go away after about 5 to 6 days. Try gas-x to relieve the pain or Maalox if your doctor okays it. It will go away and yes it does go the shoulder and elsewhere. Hang in there - it does get better!.
  10.:w00t::drum:Awesome before and after pics! You rock!

    @`~~ May 2010 Workout Challenge @,~~

:thumbup:Hi all, yesterday May 17th, 25 minutes walking. Gardening 30 minutes. lol

  17. Bella, once again you are doing great on your short term goal!
  18. It might not be a bad idea to give the clothes to Salvation Army - here in Canada that is a Christian organization that has very little overhead as opposed to some other charities. I have bought dress pants from goodwill for work and they are just fine - you probably won't even need them for too long so why spend so much money on new ones.
  19. Hello, be careful - don't be a fool like I was. I planted all the annual flowers 5 days post op and prayed I wouldn't damage anything.

Hello, sorry that you are in pain. the thing that helped me a lot was to walk around and Maalox. It goes away after about (for me) 10 days. Take care.

    @`~~ May 2010 Workout Challenge @,~~

:welldoneclap:Thanks! It seems I'm doing more work around the house here as there is quite a lot of yard work to do. I would have loved to have gone walking today but ended up doing at least 4 hours of yardwork again. Hope you're all doing well. lol

how long will it take to lose 65 pounds?

Thanks to both of you for your great feedback. When I posted my comment I was unsure how to navigate site so missed these great posts. I have always been active but more so around the house, yardwork. proportionate eating was more my trouble. I'm really enjoying this site and all the friendly comments I've seen. thanks again.
  24. :seeya:Hello all, my name is Lena and I was banded April 28 so I am 2.5 weeks post op. Solid foods start for me tomorrow and most of the gas pain has subsided. I wish I could stop burping though - I'm sure it is because my bites or gulps are still a bit big. I have been sticking to 800 calories a day at present and not eating anything after 7 o'clock at night. If I am really starved though I have some fat free jello. I am also really watching the salt intake to avoid water retention. I find having this band has put me in a different mindset and my mood is so much more stable - it's kind of nice to have some rules to live by when it comes to eating. Hope you all had a nice weekend!
