I had my band out march 24, 2010. I was able to eat whatever the following day. I am expierencing excessive reflux now, but my dr thinks it is from the band being on for so long and the sphincter has not been used. I am currently taking previcid and it should heal itself....otherwise I have felt great, started cardio excersice after 2 weeks and full strentgh training 4 weeks post-op.

My band was taken out a month ago. I am surprised that you had so much pain. I only had pain the first day and discomfort the next to days but was off pain meds 3 days post-op. I am sorry it didn't go well for you. I feel so much better now that my band is gone. If I were you I would not have it put back in......I have been working with a trainer for the past 8 months and I have gained a lot of muscle and lost about 6% body fat. I am not "dieting" I am eating healthy. I try and eat organic, eat healthy fats, and protein and limit my intake of carbohydrates. It is not easy but I take one day at a time and I am really feeling good.......Good Luck

Poll: What did you do after your Band removal?
deantwin2 replied to fabfatgrl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I just had my band remove 1 month ago, I have gained 5lbs, but my personal trainer said it is probably because my body is trying to get used to the adjustments......I currently have been working out with a personal trainer for the past 8 months and I would recommend that method to help you in your journey. -

Which Doctor to use for REMOVAL of my Lap Band
deantwin2 replied to ggeorgiagirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just had my band removed March 24th, 2010. I am from Michigan and I had my band taken out by Dr. Bruce McIntosh at William Beaumont Hospital - Troy. He did a great job felt good following the procedure. I was only on pain meds for 2 days following the procedure. I will say thought that I have developed excessive reflux since my band has been taken out. The surgeon stated that he has seen this in another person who has had there band removed. I guess it happens because the sphincter in the lower esophagus has been weekend due to the band. Hoping that the meds will cure this problem......
