I located this dr. by doing research. He is from Kings daugthers Hospital and I decided to change my last Dr. for Dr. S and you know what he is very good and very careful. He told me that I had 7 ccs in my band and that my old Dr. said I had 5 ccs in the band, he actually showed me the fill in the syringe while it was still attached to me sort to speak, it blew my mind what I was looking at. In the past my old dr. would put in a 0.25 cc and then I would be over filled and then he would take it out and then re fill me again sounds like a gas can right lol . But there was one time when my old Dr. ordered me a GI for tightness and another Dr. took care of me and he extracted 6 ccs back then and the nurse said no I only had 5 ccs, well how can you argue when the facts are right in front of you. So someone made a big boo boo on me for sure. I now have 7 1/4 ccs in my 10 cc band and you know what so far so good. I am dropping pounds and feeling better for some reason and for the pst 2 years I ahve been hanging at 180 pounds and now the weight is finally moving off (again) I am so thrilled. Dr. S. in now in Killeen, Texas on Clear Creek Rd he has a wonderful staff andhe is very friendly but professional, he is a regular surgeon as well. I asked my Dr. and his very good nurse about the same thing and I was told yes stress can cause the band to tighten up. I asked my friend a nurse this same question she said that when we become stressed and I mean very stressed our internal organs can swell up. I get stressed and boom the band tightens up like a vice..I was told if this happens to go back on the clear liquids for a few days until things settle down. I ahve had so many fills and then un fills as I call them it is not even funny anymore due to this. The last one was about two weeks ago. I seen a new Dr. in May and he did not fill me, he just checked me out. I started to cough at night and get reflux my last fill was in mid March so I know what I was experiencing was not from the last fill. The new Dr. said that I am a crammer a packer that I eat and gulp my food, well I ahve never done that not in my entire life. I eat slowly and chew very well more so since I ahve been banded. He also told me I had a mega esophagus well without the upper GI unless he had x ray vision there is not way to diagnose that and well my esophagus had been dialiated a few times in the past but it was diagnosed after the swallow test was done. He started talking about how the esophagus could rupture and I could die and how I needed to have surgery and a revision well I don't think so. He took out 1 cc and well I have been fine ever since and am I going back to him?? oh heck no I am going back to my original Dr. that did the band and I should have never left his practice and di the other Dr. ever order up the GI test? no he did not I have not heard back from him or his office. So don't let anyone tell you that your doing stuff that your not doing at all.

I ahve been banded since September 2007 and i cannot tell you how many times I ahve had this problem. My band gets too tight I get reflux, over and over again, filled and un filled now today the new Dr. said my band slipped and that I have a mega esophagus, well how does he know he has not ran any tests on me. He said I needed to have surgery a revision, she said I could die if my esophagus ruptures. He said that he will only fill me but it will be up to the origianl Dr. to operate on me. Scared well yes I am but I have calmed down since this morning. This Dr. only does banding and sleeves. Do you think he is looking to make a buck on me or what? I don't even know if my federal Health Plan BC/BS will cover a revision or not/ I ahve lost 100 plus pounds but still considered obese due to my height and weight I am 5 2 and weigh in at 180 pounds but I can wear a size 10/12 so in that area I am whereI want to be. I ahve not lost any weight since May 2008 I have maintained my weight. I ahve had say 6 or more barium Upper GI's since I was banded and nothing but problems. HELP

Ok I had a fill in march of 2010 and all was well up until about a week or so ago, I started having night caughing and some reflux. I seen my new Dr. told me that I might have a mega esophagas and this is becuase I gulp my food, well no. I eat slowly, small bites and chew very well. I do not drink 30 minutes before or after eating. I told him this. I aslo told him what my old Dr. would do in this case would remove someof the fill and have me on liquids for a few days, then soft foods and well like in the beginning. He said he is going to remove my fill all of it, well no he will not for I will not go back to him. He is talking surgery etc and well he has no idea if I am dialated as of yet or not. I was not losing weight but I was told that I maxed out on my weightloss and not to expect much more if any. I am not hungry half the time. I am not vomiting at all and not sliming at all either, noting hurts when I eat or drink. So how can I shrink this esophagas and get her back ionto shape. Please help.

Hi everyone one, well I have a bit of a question for someone to answer for me. I ahd to locate a new fill Dr. he is a regular surgeon that practices in Bariatrics, he is very good. I had my first fill with him and he had all of my paperwork from my past Dr. and he even showed it to me and went over it with me. He proceeded to give me the fill and when he inserted the syringe he was able to check the fill and match it to the last time I was filled by the olf Dr. I had 5 cc in my 10 cc band according to the old Dr. well I actually had 7 ccs and not the 5 ccs, he said he did not want me to gt over filled and there is a difference from over filled and tightness as he put it, well he gave me 0.25 cc and I feel fine. Now in the past my old Dr. would fill me at 0.25 ccs and I would get way too tight and he would take it out and then put it back, seems like he or someone fudged on my records. has anyone had this problem before? please let me know
