I don't work out on the weekends because I get to see my fiance on those days. Instead I have crazy monkey sex to help burn the calories. They say you burn 130 calories for every 30 minutes. So we just have multiple sessions each day for an hour at a time. He has great stamina and loves that I'm taking the initiative. I really hope I'm not the only one who does this...

I have a new one... I CAN SEE MY KNUCKLES <3 I have never been able to see my knuckles without clinching my fists really tight. I freaked out earlier because I was typing on the computer and noticed the pointy lump on my pinky knuckle. I thought that it could be a tumor or something.... nope it was just my knuckle.

Can you feel the food pass through ??
AngryBaby replied to Whillow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well my stomach always gurgles Especially while eating. However I only actually "feel" the food going down if I just had a fill and am reallly restricted. -
LOL I'm glad... Besides I haven't lost any weight in the past two weeks... Then suddenly because of last night I lost 3 pounds. hahaha! yay

well technically "slimming" is the act of getting smaller or more fit... LOL sorry I couldn't resist... But, yeah sliming sucks. If I eat too quickly or don't chew enough something will get stuck. It pretty much feels like an elephant is attempting to crush your chest. Soon afterwards you start drooling or your mouth creates tons of saliva in an attempt to get the food down. If that does not get the food down then it must come up... and that's another story for another day...

I need some friends with some understanding!
AngryBaby replied to Moo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Lindsey! I'm Alicia and I'm just a few years younger than you. It sounds like we have a few things in common. I too love me some vidgamagames. In fact that's how me and my fiance bond . Unfortunately I don't have the mad skills to do anime however I sketch flowers, dead trees, buildings, etc. LOL and who doesn't love kareoke? I do an awsome rendition of bohemian rhapsody (air guitar and all). If you need a buddy, shoot me a text (I too have unlimited texting). If you PM me I'll give you my number! Good luck on your new adventures! -
How many pounds lost = a dress size?
AngryBaby replied to Ocnlvr's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Well I've lost 30 lbs and went from a tight 20/22 to a loose 14/16. (10 lbs a size) I think the biggest variable is if your working out. If you work out more you lose inches faster than you lose weight. -
I'm in the same boat as you. I was banded May 25th and I've lost 30 lbs. However I keep gaining and losing this same 3 lbs. I'm gonna pull my damn hair out! I tried turning up my workout routine from vigorous to INSANE... nothin'.... Increase Protein...nada damn thing I'm getting irritated (to put it nicely) Sorry I can't help, but just know your not alone!

To ahb08 EXACTLY!!! I do better when I eat with somebody else because I enjoy the sound of my own voice, if you know what I mean. I'll end up spending more time talking and less time trying to focus on eating. I really don't have a problem focusing on food (content wise) as I do speed wise.

Oh yes... I'm at a point where I keep getting stuck and it sucks!!! I chew my jaw off, however it is not enough time in between bites. I have to basically put the fork down and wait a minute before I take the next bite and chew chew chew chew... It usually takes me +30 minutes to eat lunch or dinner. Does it get easier? Or do you still struggle with it?

Does the band help or cause Reflux? I'm confused..
AngryBaby replied to spoiltmom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After I had my gallbladder removed I was plagued with acid reflux 1-2 times EVERYDAY. However after I was banded I haven't had a single problem with that. However, my mom has never had acid reflux until after she had her surgery and she too had her hiatal hernia repaired at the time of surgery.. -
Where is your port at anyway?
AngryBaby replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
mine is directly inbetween by belly-button and my ribcage (in the center of my abdomenal area) -
Ok I've only lost 28 lbs but I have a few NSVs 1. I went clothes shopping. I tried on a pair of 24 pants... it didn't fit... 22? nope still loose...20 nope...18? no way...16 HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!! THEY FIT!!! So not only have I moved from a size 24 pant to size 16. I have also moved from a size 20/22 top to a 14/16! I'm just one step closer to never having to step foot back into Lane Bryant or avenue. 2. My fiance can wrap his arms around me and i can spin around in his arms without him letting go. 3. I've become SOOOO much more flexible.

Discrimination / social marginalization
AngryBaby replied to edub's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've been overweight my entire life. These are the things I've notice... 1. I have the power of invisibility.... I can basically appear and disappear at the blink of an eye. No one will notice until they want something from me. 2. My wisdom does not matter (nor does my life)... If I ask about someones day I will listen and on rare occasion I will offer some advise. They refuse to take my advise (which is fine) however no one will ask me about anything. If I tell them about myself they could really care less. 3. I must smell horrifically! I take a shower daily and use deoderant and what not... however I must smell. No one will dare sit next to me. There could be only one chair in the most awful location and there could be a billion awesome chairs next to me. That person would rather go through a maze of an obstacle course to get to that awkwardly positioned chair before they would sit next to me. (FYI this person is generally someone who does not know me nor has ever met me) -
I've discovered that pre-op I used to drink maybe once a month and I could handle several drinks (usually white russians or liquid marijuanas). Afterwards I've realized that I can only tolerate one drink and I only have a drink on VERY special occasions. I have also begin to lose the taste for my favorite drinks. My taste buds have changed dramatically...

Question for End of May 10 Banders Please!
AngryBaby replied to Ninababy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Don't stress it! I've only lost 12 pounds since surgery and I was banded the 25th. I've lost 26 pounds total. I eat right (don't cheat), get tons of Protein, and work out 3-5 days a week 1-2 times a day about 1.5 hours per session. I do cardio, weight lifting, yoga and/or zumba. This is only the beginning for us. We still haven't hit our sweet spot (fill wise) and we're still learning how to use the band appropriately. Don't give up! -
Allergic to bandaids???
AngryBaby replied to Nippz_7919's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm also allergic to bandaids... Mostly its just the adhesive. My skin gets red around the bandaid and if it is left on for too long and taken off it will actually rip my skin off. I also break out into a rash and it drives me crazy. It does more harm than good. Very few people have this condition... Usually when someone says they are allergic to bandaids they actually are allergic to the latex... not the adhesive. If you don't know which one it is you could try using latex free bandaids (to see if it's just the latex you are allergic to) or using liquid bandage (if you end up being allergic to adhesive). Tell your doctor, once you find out you are allergic to one of them. If you ever have to have surgery again DEFINATELY TELL YOUR DOCTOR OF YOUR ALLERGY!!! They can actually do stitch you up with disolvable stitches (under the skin) and use medical liquid bandage (kinda like super glue) to close you up. I always heal a hell of a lot better when they do this rather that trying to tape me up and what not... -
hello everyone! I'm 23 and just a few months into being banded. If you would like to chat about being banded (or hell even about life in general) don't be afraid to message me!

Buddy wanted, any May 2010 Banders?
AngryBaby replied to Sibom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded May 25th and so far I've lost 24 lbs. Unfortunately I've hit a plateau and the monster (my stomache) is starving. My cravings and appetite are coming back with force. Fortunately, I'm getting my second fill in a little more than another week. The fills definately help... Also I can work myself out of a craving. I can make myself full-heartedly believe that I will die if I each chocolate/bread/cake/donutes/chips etc. Believe it or not, it helps me. I just think to myself that if I eat those foods then I will have severe pain and I will have to have my band taken out. I will then gain all my weight back, plus even more! -
Also, at this point you should not expect to lose any more weight until you get your first fill. The only thing you should be concerned with is making sure you take in enough Protein. As mentioned before, Congratulations your in bandsters hell. Don't worry this is a completely natural process that just about everyone goes through. After you begin getting your fills you will realize that your not as hungery as you once were and you will struggle less because of it!

Getting & keeping a boy/girlfriend?
AngryBaby replied to katiebug's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
self-confidence is definately key to catching a boy/girlfriend If you don't care how other people percieve you (being fat, for example) then they will find you more attractive. You should feel confident about who you are and what you look like. Do you like being around people who are afraid to do anythings fun or different? Do you like being around people who hate themselves or constantly complain about their appearance? This is something I learned after I left high school. I strut what I've got and I do not let my weight keep me down. I'm now engaged to an awesome guy who loves me for who I am. He loved me when I was at 262 pounds and he is supporting me through my weight-loss process. The first thing that he found attractive in me was that I was very secure with who I was. Believe me I am not settling for the first guy that looked my way. I've had several other opportunities (since my change of perspective) to be with other guys. You should never settle and you should be happy with who you are with. -
How much weight did you lose in the first month?
AngryBaby replied to Brandy~'s topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I've only lost 5 pounds post-op, however I have officially lost 19 pounds total. I'm just happy none of it has come back! I'm going in for my first fill on wednesday and I am soooo stoked! -
Hey! I was banded May 25th of this year. I'll tell you the process I've been through so far... I was banded on a Tuesday. After I awoke from anesthesia I had a pretty rough case a dry heaving but it was gone within 30 minutes (tip: ask for anti-nausia drugs before surgery). I passed out for the remainder of the day. After I woke up I discovered that I had severe back pain. To battle this I walked as often as I could handle it and had a secret love affair with a heating pad. The pain was gone by that Friday. Every day I felt significately better. By June 2nd I had lost 12 pounds. At this point I have not lost any more weight. Every day I have increased the amount of time I have been working out. Today I did 35 minutes of cardio on a bike. I have yet to have been released to do any more extensive workouts. (weight lifting and such) Oh and my appetite is back . Buh... However, I just can't eat as much. I'm in what several people call bander's hell... or whatever. (It's the stage in between being banded and your first fill. You have a crazy appetite and you are no longer losing weight) Now this is just my experience... everyone goes through a different process. I hope yours goes well!!!
