Hi Mary, no words of wisdom here, but just wanted to let you know I am having surgery on the 22nd too. I am nervous and scared too, and I wonder to if I can still do it on my own. I have lost over 100 pounds 3 times and various other lbs over the years only to gain it back. I think I have done more damage to my body with the yo-yo ing then just staying fat.. I am 41 and it gets harder each time, I know I could probably loose it again.. but can I keep it off is the question. I believe this will be the tool to help me keep it off, that is why I have decided to go ahead with it.. don't know if this will help you.. but just wanted to let you know you're not alone... wishing you the best Sherri

Hi Becca I have just been following the pre-op diet in the binder. I also quit diet pepsi and any type of caffinee. My appitite is much less since giving up the caffinee..so although I started out eating everyting listed for the pre-op diet.. I now just eat till I am full. I also do my exercise bike for 25 min 3-4 times a week.. hope that helps.. Good luck to day Tamra.. and thanks everyone for the well wishes.. :-)

thanks Ali, Yes I am surprised at how fast I moved to.. but I am not complaining !!!! they first gave me a date of July 13th, but later that day called and said the 22nd opened up... I grabed it..

I have surgery (sleeve) on tuesday the 22nd :devil_smile: Sherri

I got my date yesterday... June 22nd ! Can't believe it is happening so fast.. so happy :thumbup1: Sherri

I got a call on the way home from the case manager, someone canceled and I got my date bumped up I am having surgery on the 22nd, less then 2 weeks.. ! I can't believe its happening so fast.... Sherri

Thanks John, I called, no appointment yet. but at least I know they did not forget me.. she said to give her a couple more days, she is waiting to hear from the case manager

Welcome acaaew, good luck with your journey! I have a question, I was told by Richmond that they would be calling me either yesterday or today to schedule my case manager appointment. I did not get a call yet, should I call them ? or wait another day or two? I don't want to irritate them.. anyone else with similar experience? Thanks Sherri :biggrin:

Hi Cherice, Yes I was lucky and only needed to loose 10 pounds, he said it was because I am tall and carry my weight well. I am still trying to loose as much as possible pre surgery, so far since starting the pre-op diet I have lost 25lbs I wish you the same luck ! Sherri

Hi Michael, My name is Sherri, I live in Sac and am going through Kaiser Richmond. I should get a call this week for my case manager appointment. As I am still in the pre op stage I don't have much wisdom to spread but will answer any questions I can. There is a support group that meets at point west kaiser the 3rd Saturday of the month from 11-1 I have not been to one yet, but have talked to some of the people on the message boards at Kaiser Richmond Pre-op - Page 809 - LAP-BAND? Surgery and LAP-BAND? Discussion Forum Which Surgeon did you meet with? I have Dr. Fisher. One thing I can tell you is the pre op diet works great.. I am already below pre surgery goal and its only been little over 3 weeks. If you have not started it yet.. I would start now.. They weigh you at every appointment so wear your lightest clothes and take off your shoes.. good luck and feel free to send me a message any time Sherri :thumbup1:

Hi everyone, My name is Sherri, I was first considering the Lap band but after much research have decided on the sleeve. I have posted some on the lap band site, and thought it was time to come over here to. I have had my orientation and surgeon consult, i have my psych appointment tomorrow. I was given a pre op weigh loss goal of 10 lbs. Depending on how much my clothes weigh tomorrow I should be at or near that goal. My Dr. is Dr. Fisher at Kaiser Richmond. I am about 130 lbs overweight and have yo-yo'ed all my life. I have lost over 100 lbs several times only to gain it back . I am hoping this "tool" will be what I need to keep it off. anyone who has had Dr Fisher and has any information good or bad I would greatly appreciate it.. Thanks Sherri :puke4:

I just got off the phone with Kaiser Richmond and they ordered my labs and EKG, as soon as I get those done I can call for my case manager appointment.. !! Hi everyone, Sorry I missed the point west meeting, would have liked to see everyone. I work a karaoke business on the weekends and it went late on Friday and I overslept Sat and missed the meeting. I have my psych appointment tomorrow and I was wondering, do they weigh you at this appoint? also have been curious why is Dr Fisher nicknamed Dr who? Ali- 17 lbs is fanstastic, don't let the slowdown get you down!!
