I went through Kaiser Richmond and had Dr Fisher. I liked him, but there are others that don't. He is very straight forward matter of fact. If you are not serious about loosing the weight and sticking to the program he will be very hard on you. For me that just pushed me along even faster. I quit my 6-10 can a day diet pepsi habit and lost over 30 lbs pre-op. I hope you have a good experience with him good luck Sherri

Why does my weight keep changing?
disp4so replied to Shanny's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I always weigh about 2-4 lbs more in the evening.. It is normal as long as it goes back down in the morning I would not worry -
I got one for x mass and they are worth every penny.. use it all the time for protein/fruit smoothies.. have also made soup a couple of times..

I take in around 60-100 grams of carbs a day.. mostly all good carbs I have lost 128 lbs so far.. so it works for me.. I know everyone is different though I have tried the higher in protein/low carb bars and they just taste awful to me... eating something i like helps keep me on track.

I work for sacramento county and have kaiser. I was very lucky and did not have to pay anything for the surgery. All I paid for was $20 for the 2 prescriptions they sent me home with. I did have to go to Richmond about 2hr drive from home, but that was nothing for what I got in return. Good luck to you -
I love the new Lemon Meringue crunch by Balance bar... It tastes very very good.. 14 gms Protein and 23gm carb I know probably not as much protein and more carbs then you were asking for.. but this one is really good

How lond did it take for you to get the surgery?
disp4so replied to snowfie9's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery at Kaiser Richmond. I started the first week of May and had my surgery on June 22nd. I was very luck in how fast it proceeded. I only had to loose 10lbs to get my surgery, I ended up loosing 36 lbs by the morning of my surgery. Hope all goes quick for you :-) good luck -
Mine started to thin out around the 5th month. I am at 8 months now and it has slowed down. No one notices but me and my hairdresser, but I had very thick hair to begin with I take Biotin everyday and it helps with regrowth, I also only wash my hair about 2 times a week as to not cause any extra stress on it.. good luck on your journey

I am sure they work, but my NUT said they don't have enough of the vit's & min we need after surgery I take the Bariatric Advantage capsules (3 a day) , they are small and easy to swallow
-
you only have to sip for the first 3 months or so... I am amost 8 months out now and can take several big swigs/gulps at a time. I would not try Chugging it down though thththtth no real tips, just wanted you to know that part does not last forever

mine came like four times after surgery with only a week or two inbetween. Doctor said it was normal because of the stress your body is put through. after the first couple months mine stabalized and is now regular once a month

What do you do about booze?
disp4so replied to Julieann's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I drink vodka, rum, liquors, mixed drinks, margaritas, martini's so on... but did not have any until about 5-6 months out. I would not recomend it any sooner. everyone's tummy is different... you will have to feel it out and find out what your comfortable with and just FYI you really can't drink while you eat after the sleeve.. up to 15 min before and about 30 min to an hr after good luck -
