41 hours from now...
disp4so replied to apple-saucy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I walked into a bay or hallway with comfy lounge chairs and curtains to separate then. I changed into the surgical gown (nada on underneath) some comfy purple socks with raised tread on bottom so you don't slip (provided by hospital) and the cap for your hair. The nurse started an IV and the anesthesiologist came in to talk to me about what she would be doing. When it was time I walked on my own into the operating room and plopped myself on the table. The assisting doctor said hi and asked me my name and what surgery I was having.. then not long after that it was a few deep breaths and I was out.. I don't even remember the recovery room or even when I woke up in my regular room.. hope that helps... I had my surgery at Kaiser Richmond Good luck to you !!!!! -

Mexico or Bust!!!
disp4so replied to workinprogress's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not have surgery in Mexico so can't help out with that.. But I did have the sleeve done and I would still pick that one over plication if i could do it again. it just does not make sense to me to fold the stomach over itself, how do they check that part of the stomach for ulcers, cancer etc.. later in life.. also I like not being hungry the majority of the time.. and when I am it is usually Head hunger do lots of research and find what is right for you... good luck -

terrified to go to primacy doc appt today
disp4so replied to xxm4ndaaxx's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
wow you definately need to change doctors as soon as you're able.. and I would report him to the medical board... there is no excuse for that kind of cruelness. He should treat you with respect regardless of your size... I am sending positive thoughts your way.....I hope your appointment today goes well.. -
I had mine arrive about 4-5 times in the first 2 months.. it has since slowed down to the regular once a month.. I would not worry unless is continues for more then 2 months.. it is just your body trying to adjust to everything that was done to it..

Does everyone have a drain after surgery?
disp4so replied to fatBgone's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not have one.. -
I vomit if I eat to much or something that my stomach does not like... The eating too much is my own fault, but sometimes I eat new things or even stuff I have had before and my little tummy jst revolts against it. I am 9 months out so it happens a lot less then in the beginning (probably 10-12 times a month) (currently maybe 4-5 times a month). there is no guarentee but i'm sure it is still a lot less then with the band..

disp4so replied to Nikki_D's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had it around the end of the first month and although it has subsided a little.. I still have it. it is not thrush, and I have tried every prescription "magic" mouth wash there is.. I am hoping it will go away at some point .. but i have just learned to live with it hopefully yours won't last very long.. -
