Hi,I've been overweight for at least 10 years. I struggled with weight issues as early as high school and had an eating disorder for about two years. After moving out on my own, I gained about 40lbs in college. After my freshman year, I had to move home to help my family, and quickly lost the weight but after meeting my future husband and moving out of my parents house, I gained ALL the weight I lost and it slowly kept creeping on year after year. I stopped looking in full length mirrors, refused to be photographed and stopped doing things I loved to do. Then I became pregnant. I was very sick when pregnant and lost 30lbs during the pregnancy but after my daughter was born, I gained it all back and then some. I am at my heaviest weight and started having joint pain. My daughter is 3 and I am having a hard time keeping up with her and that helped me make my decision. It is time for me to take charge of my life and take control of my weight once and for all!My path to surgery was very simple and luckily, I have wonderful benefits at work and its being covered. I will be banded in less than a week on May 4th, 2010.
