Thats a funny funny thing. I'm 15 months post op, have had six fills including the adjustment two days ago. Every fill or adjustment I have had has been that way. I usually don't feel the results, or restriction for two or three days then all the sudden its there. My restriction, or feeling of restriction changes from day to day. It depends on so many contributing factors. Everything from the weather, to physical activity. Don't allow it to bother you. Thats just one of the changes you will experience in your body and lifestyle. Its well worth it too, don't sweat it, concentrate on the positive. It worked for me. 15 months out, 201 pounds lost, at personal goal. Life is good!

What is your current fill in your 4cc band?
jackal1209 replied to Paulax's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Give it a few days. Of the five fills I have had in fifteen months, I do remember it was a day or even two before I noticed difference. Odd I know, but that was my experience. 15 months post op 200 pounds lost, at goal....Life is good! -
I used to always book as early as possible, (I fly once a month or so), usually American, and always shot for last row isle. American is pretty good even if the flight is pretty full about allowing you to move once the door has been closed to whatever, or wherever a seat is available. Thats actually what pushed me to the surgery. I had been looking into it for a year or so, when one day while boarding, the flight attendant said to me, "You may need to purchase an extra ticket", someone behind me muttered "Good thing they don't charge by the pound". I felt about three inches tall. Well, that was fifteen months ago. Since then, I have lost 200 pounds, and am at goal. I went from a 54 BMI to a 24. Life is all good now.

Working stiffs, how long...
jackal1209 replied to winner's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Just depends on you level of pain tolerance. Personally, I had the surgery on a Thursday, and was back at work on the following Monday. No lifting, but full duty, lots of walking, sitting, etc. I was pretty tired the first couple days back at work, but felt fine by the following Monday. 15 months post op 200 pounds lost, at goal Starting BMI of 54, now 24 Life is good! -
Considering band, but being pushed for the bypass
jackal1209 replied to Momx03's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Former snackers unite! That was my downfall, I ate all day long. It makes me think your nutricionist is getting a kick back from the bypass Doc. I researched the options for over a year before deciding on the band. Granted the bypass may, (and I stress may) be quicker, long term I personally, (and I'm sure someone willl argue) believe the band has more of a success rate. You just have to follow the program/ advise of you Doc. It works, look around. 15 months post op 200 pounds lost, at goal Starting BMI of 54, 24 now. Life is good -
No jewelry AT ALL?
jackal1209 replied to MS_mom_1965's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tape also has something to do with static electricity in the OR. Also just think about how in a couple months how you will be resizing it cause it falls off -
Everybody is different, and I really hate to say "thats normal" but do think its to be expected. After all you just had a foreign object implanted there, and there will be some discomfort, and swelling in that area. I do recall having the same issue, and thinking "Oh my god, is this normal, am I going to experience this from now on?" Mine went away after about three months, and as time passes, life gets better, especially when you start seeing the results. Also remember as with "change" comes a little discomfort, but the end justifies the means. Sorry, I'm not trying to preach, but life is good for me, and I thank god every single day for guiding me to this. 15 months post op. at goal 200 pounds lost Starting BMI of 54, now 24. High on life:clap2:

Thats what I love about this site. People who have experienced these things. My Doc, and his support staff, (Dietician) can offer advice, but bottom line, they are not banded. Drinking while eating, (Not drinking) was my biggest hurdle too. Its tough, and no one understands unless they are banded. Hang in there and don't set yourself up for failure. I looked at, and reminded myself that I put myself through way too much, physically and monetarily to not do what I needed to make it. 15 months post op At goal, 200 pounds lost 54 BMI then 24 now! Life is great!

A technician? Thats scary. My doctor does all the fills, and or adjustments, and he decides what is needed. I have asked for more on occasion and been told no. I would think long and hard about that Doc. I guess I am just spoiled by the level of service and knowledge provided by my Doc. After success speaks for itself. 15 months post op At goal, 200 pounds lost

Bravo Alexandra, you hit the nail right on the head. It will be a learning experience. I felt the same in the beginning, and feel that a lot of it was habit. Hang in there Gilbert, be patient. The band is your Drill Sergeant, listen and learn. 15 months post op. 200 pounds lost, (at goal) 430 then, 230 now, (6'2) 54 BMI then, 24 now. Life is good!

Its easy. Best thing you can do is just relax and don't worry. 15 months post op, 5 fills, and honestly had no issue or problem with any of them. Usually didn't even notice any diffewrence for a day or two after. 15 months post op 200 pounds lost, (At goal) starting BMI of 54, Now 24!

Patience Grasshopper! Thats to be expected. I'm sure you still had, (have) some swelling in that area. Give it a few weeks, then get another fill. As long as your not gaining, and are still loosing. Being patient was my biggest problem too. It will work though if you just follow the plan. I am at goal, fifteen months post op. and 200 pounds lost! Your not alone, this is a new day for you and your body.

What is your current fill in your 4cc band?
jackal1209 replied to Paulax's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
3.1, four fills in 15 months. Everybody is different. 200 pounds lost and am at goal! was 54 BMI, now 24! 6ft 2. 230 Life is great! -
Yes everyone carries their weight differently. Been there, done that. Of the 200 pounds I have lost in fifteen months, I did not budge a size untill I was about three months out and had lost about 50-75 pounds. However when you hit that point, look out. You won't be able to keep up with it, and what a feeling. Thats when the momentum, and the motivation really kicked in for me.:biggrin1:

Hey Ginger, hang in there. Walking is a really good start. The more you do, and lose, the more you will feel like doing, don"t get discouraged. When I began my journey fifteen months ago, I couldn't walk a block without stopping and my knees screaming at me. For the first eight months, thats all I did, just a little walking, maybe a mile three times a week. Now that I have reached my goal, I feel better than I have in years. I walk still three times a week about two miles, bike, and now play adult soccer. You will get there! Be patient grasshopper. I did.... Fifteen months post op, 200 pounds lost, Starting BMI of 54, now 24. 70 inches total gone, and I'm high on life.:clap2:

Doctor Robert Sewell in Southalke, Superb. Also, what makes a difference in your success is the after care program offered by your Physician, and I think theirs is the best. His surgery program / price includes six months unlimited aftercare, adjustments, regular visits with a cert. Diatician etc. Excellent Doc.:clap2:

Howdy from Fort Worth Texas! I just found this site, and wanted to check it out, get, and offer some support for anyone who might need it. I am fifteen months post op now, and doing great! I have hit my weight loss goal, and have lost 200 pounds. I feel great, better than I have in years, and almost as important as the physical aspect, feel better about myself that I have in a long time. I have gone from a 56 inch waist to a 38. I fought with insurance for months before getting approval, so I understand the frustrations of dealing with insurance. Where there is a will, there is a way though.:biggrin1:

My best friend the first year post op was the IDF brand sold by the retail chain Smoothie King. I have tried them all, and it seemed to work the best for me. Its not the cheapest but has the best nutritional values. Like I say, it worked for me. Fifteen months post op, lost 200 pounds and am at goal:scared:

POLL Does Everyone Lose Their Hair??
jackal1209 replied to KariK's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I don't know if there is any difference between girls and guys, (hair loss issues that is), but I have had no issue with it. I am fifteen months post op. and have lost 200 pounds without any hair loss. I did follow the Doctors suggestion and take a good Multivitamin, and supplement my protien intake daily. 15 months post op, all time high 430, 230 now Starting BMI 54, 24 now At goal:scared: -
Thank you for the welcome, and I will do that in the next few days.
