my name is rebecca (becky) and i am a 25 year old wife, mother, nurse's aid, and soon to be nursing student. Obviously i have a busy life and yet I have ballooned up 280 lbs. I've always been a big girl. My whole family is full of big girls and boys. Its engrained in our genes to eat. We live to eat and its time that i break the cycle. My mom had the gastric bypass in 2005 and lost a ton of weight but it was the worst thing i have ever seen. She threw up after eating everything, she lost her hair, she was so weak, etc. so i told myself i would never get that done.. fast forward 5 years and about 80 lbs and im at that point. About a year ago i found out i have polycystic ovarian syndrome which makes since why i havent had a period for a year and basically means i cant have kids. The doctor said that if i would drop weight i would be "back to normal" again. I definitely dont want kids now since i have a year and a half left of nursing school, but right afterwards i would love to have another one. so this is my goal. Not only to drop weight and look kick butt again, but to be healthy!Last month i saw the nutritionist, psych, and surgeon. Yesterday (april 26th) i got the call that my insurance approved my surgery and that i will be banded as of June 15th!!
