  1. Happy 49th Birthday crabbygirl!

  2. 5 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 5th Anniversary crabbygirl!

  3. Hi everyone. My name is Marcy and I have to tell you how excited I am. I started researching WLS almost 4 years ago, even had a consult with a surgeon for a LapBand. But soon found out that my insurance plan would only cover RNY. No way was I having RNY! Instead I waited patiently every year for open enrollment time, hoping that this would be the year they would finally add LapBand to the list of options. Fast foward to this year. I finally resigned myself to having RNY. I was feeling desperate, like I could not wait another year, and after this long the chances of my insurance company adding LapBand was pretty much nil. So I found the surgeon I wanted to do my RNY, attended a seminar last week, and started planning. Just for kicks and giggles, I called my insurance company on Thursday since it's open enrollment time and guess what?!!? They are adding LapBand to the plan for 2007!! :clap2: I was so happy when they told me, I started crying. I don't think I realized how concerned I was about having RNY. I felt such relief! So anyway...now I'm trying to decide if I want to stay with the original surgeon I had chosen for RNY or someone else. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this forum. I needed a place where I could learn about LapBand and not be confronted constantly with the question, "why not go ahead with RNY?! Looking forward to getting to know y'all better!
