I turned 50 and am 100 plus pounds lighter! I was banded 3 years ago and although the journey has been rough at times I have no regrets . I have more energy am just more comfortable than I ever imagined. I am struggling a little right now with food choices but am confident that it will pass and I will continue my success!

I didn't really exercise much at all until I had lost about 70 pounds / I just didn't have the energy! I did watch my calories very closely for the first couple of years; tried to stay between 800 & 1000 calories per day! I didn't really attribute it to age I was just so determined and once I got started I was pretty consumed by it! I wish you all success and happiness!

My Lap Band is not working anymore

I have been fairly successful with my band so I hate to hear that you are having trouble with yours. One thing that I have noticed is if you snack instead of eating your meals you can "trick" the band. I have been guilty of doing that myself on occasion and found that I was consuming lots of calories grazing all day. My goal is to keep it at 1 shake per day and 2 small meals. It the end I usually consume between 600-800 calories a day... I am 1 year out this month and have lost 127 pounds. I still want to loose another 20 pounds. I am loving the band and have no regrets. Hang in there and hopefully you can make it work for you... -
The holidays was harder than I ever anticipated.... They are over now and I am getting back on track!

It has been awhile since I posted but had to share my latest milestone... I hit 100 pound weight loss recently and am still very pleased with my decision to be banded. Crazy thing is I know I am doing well and get lots of compliments, but I don't really see it when I look in the mirror... It is getting harder and I want to loose another 50 pounds, but I am feeling good and am confident that I will be able to reach my goal. Good luck to you all!

I Want Buns of Steel, not Buns of Cinnamon

So glad to hear you are making changes.... Change is always hard, but you can do it! The band controld your hunger, but it doesn't do anything for your head, that was the hardest part for me and I still struggle from time to time. I have truely never been hungry since I was banded but I do yearn for certain things. Good luck and keep on keeping on.... -
Well, i weighed yesterday and am very happy to say that I am still headed in the right direction. I am trying to weigh every other week. I am down 65 pounds since May and couldn't be happier with the results. I am still struggling with food choices. I do think that it is getting easier but still an obstacle. Breaking old habits is harder than I ever imagined. I hope everyone else is enjoying success on this wonderful journey of LAP-BAND®.

Good luck... I hope everything goes well for you! -
I weighed in on Monday... Ended up loosing 1.5 pounds. Don't get me wrong, I am happy with it. I had been doing a whole lot better on my journey.

Well, I have not lost any weight this week. I am trying to remain positive, especially since I have been doing so well. It is a little frustrating but I am gonna be patient for another week. After all I have only had one fill and I imagine it takes several to get to the "sweet spot". If things don't change in the next few days I am heading back for another adjustment.

Good luck... I hope the seminar clears everything up for you and that you make the right decision for yourself. I couldn't be more pleased with my decision to have the lapband.

I survived another busy week. I had a lot going on with work and at home but I made and managed to take care of myself. "Taking Care of Myself" my new words to live by. The first step was deciding I was ready to do something about my weight, I fought it for years and then at some point I just gave up. I let it defeat me for the longest. Then about a year ago I starting thinking I had give up too easy so I rejoined the fight and made the decision to be banded... I am not looking back, it is all about looking forward for me now.

I was banded on May 13th. I really struggled with the decision to get the LAP-BAND®®. But so far everything is going very well. I had my first fill right at a month ago. I am down almost 60 pounds (20 lbs prior to the procedure), of course I have quite a few pounds I need to loose. At this point in time I am thinking I did the right thing and am very happy with the choice I made.

Hi Chunkie... I don't feel the band at all. I can feel the port. I have gotten used to it. Occasionally I bend over and lean to the left and it can be a little uncomfortable. Other than that it has been smooth sailing for me.
