My doctor asked me to try a boot camp first and I did two years ago. I love my boot camp as it has made me stronger than I've ever been and I've met some outstanding women there that I can now call friends. BUT...I only lost 15 pounds. So, two years later, I'm still very overweight and trying to lug around all this extra weight at a boot camp three times a week. My knees are killing me and I just can’t keep up with everyone else. So, in February 2010 I went to a free seminar and made up my mind that I was going to have the lapband procedure done. I “shopped” around the for best surgeon and ended up going to True Results in Richardson, TX as opposed the original surgeon I visited. They were great every step of the way and my surgeon, Dr. Louis Fox, was excellent as well. Everyone I interacted with was professional, courteous and answered all my questions fully. Once I made up my mind, I just kept working through the pre-op process and never allowed myself to doubt my decision. After two plus years, it was time to either get it done or stop dreaming about getting it done. My surgery was on April 20, 2010-six days ago. I’ve never had any type of surgery so it was all quite the experience. I’m still recovering physically, but doing okay. I don’t regret it at all and all I can think about is the future. It’s going to be a fantastic journey. J
