Hi I live in Dallas and i wish i could sell you the optifast shakes at a discount of course. Dr. Kim is my surgeon and i had to buy those shakes too. I didnt care for them much because i already liked a different brand protein shake before the pre-opt diet. What a waste of money because i didnt even drink them.

Congrats on being pain free! But you going into the surgery expecting the worse probably helped, because it wasnt as bad as you thought. I had a lot of pain but it came on the next day and lasted for four days. Now I am a whole lot better. Some peoples tolerance for pain is better than others.

Banded yesterday.. wooow the pain!

No matter how much you read about the pain you have after lap band surgery nothing really prepares you for the real thing until you experience it. I was in so much pain. Everyone kept telling me it will get better and to remain positive. I must say that for me it got worse before it got better. Im still in pain but it is miles better than yesterday. I even went to the mall today to pick up some products. Plus i felt like the extra walking would do me good. But I didnt expect the pain to be as bad as it was, however it gets better in time and thats why im adding my input. Im taking Gas x and my pain meds...walking you name it. The only sure thing thats working is TIME. Everyday i feel a lil bit better and i look forward to tomorrow. I had my surgery on monday and its thursday and the gas and shoulder pain is still there. But better... its just different for everybody. Some peoples tolerance for pain is better than others. I have none therefore this has been an eye opener. Goodluck to all! -
I am new on here and just want to share a little bit of my experience. I was so nervous about approval of insurance for lapband and to my suprise it went super fast. I had a 3 month multi-disciplinary plan that insurance required. A bmi of 42 and no co-morbities. I had past history of weight loss atempts. My doctors submitted my file to insurance on a monday and I was approved on tuesday. It took one day. YES! All my nervousness was gone away. I also have aetna pos two. Hope this helps for others waiting to hear back or going in to the approval. :scared2:
