  1. Hi Eri,

I didn't have problems for surgery, but after was a nightmare... Pain was dreadful, and I too really really regretted my decision to have the band. I must admit for two to three weeks after I really just wished I hadn't done it.

I am now 9 weeks post op and have had problems with my band but I guess it took me such a long time to make this decision to have the band I am slowely working through it. Perhaps try and look forward and remember why you wanted the band in the first place. We are all here on the same journey, some a little rockier than others but keep focused on the main goal. You will get better, be positive.

I wish you all the best and you will find once you start losing weight it will not be a decision you regret.

  2. Hey Just BandedEm, I had the pain you are talking about two weeks after surgery as well. I ended up going back to the doctor who took some of the saline out. (as you may already know there is some already in the band when it first goes in). Almost instand relief. Doctor said to me that the pain should be gone within about 7 - 9 days.

Now I had my first fill 3 weeks ago and have had that same pain back again for that time, so maybe I am one of those people that need to have a little at a time, cause I am over feeling like this.

I'm sure it takes time to get to the right level so I am crossing my fingers all we be sorted at my next appointment on Friday.

  3. Hi there, I am fairly new to the forum and didnt realise there was an Australian part of the site which is fantastic. I even put my weight down in pounds as I didnt think there were many of us on here.

Anyway, I have been reading some threads and really happy that there are people that have had the same doctor etc.

  4. Hi Kendra & Jen, thanks for your posts. I have been using a heat pack everyday since surgery and find it relieves the pain whilst laying down but as soon as I am up and about the pain comes back.

Jen, as for the milk products that is a definite YES i have been having milk to try and relieve the burning pain, so tomorrow I will try NO milk products and see if that changes things.

I hope you are feeling better soon Jen, it is really a terrible feeling isnt it and I sure know why you have been in tears. Keep positive lets hope it only lasts a little longer.

  5. I'm only new to the forum and was banded on 14th April 2010. I have had this very sharp pain in my chest more to the left under my rib cage but does radiate accross to my right and around to my LH side of my back which seems to be getting more intense. I have been having Reflux tablets, mylanta, gas busters, you name it I'm trying it.

Prior to surgery I was a very big burper and find now when I do it absolutely kills. Any advice on how to get rid of this pain would be really appreciated, besides the pain I am going quite good and 11 days post op I would have thought this type of pain would be gone.

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Thanks
