Thanks for info everyone. I have found that the Gowear fit is made by same people that make body bugg and is around the same price for the armband and watch..Im going to invest in one as the reviews are great for bodybugg. thanks again.

I was banded 8/16...i had the same symptoms as you. sugar free Popsicle's saved my life. lol. that what i lived on for 3 days. that and isopure protein water. I still have the shoulder pain but it is manageable. I found by propping a pillow under my tummy i sleep pretty well.

My doctor put a patch on an hour before surgery and the anesthesiologist put some anti nausea drugs in the iv. I didnt get any nausea after surgery. banded 8/16.

Congrat on new band. I was banded on 8/16. Cant be happier. The only pain i have is that pesky shoulder pain. Feeling good now that im on mushy food. Hope everything goes well for you. Heres to a better way of life ongoing.

Hi Gpmom....I started the process on 4/26 and was banded on 8/16.. my insurance (bcbsil) required 3 month diet before and phych eval. I am 1 week post op and feeling pretty good. I am very happy with my choice. Good luck to you.

My doctor and Nut suggested that I eat several small meals through out the day staying with low carbs high protein and under 1500 calories. each persons calorie count is different though.

I was banded on 8/16. Still not hungry. Feeling pretty good though. Im waiting for the hunger to kick in.

Wow 2 incisions that is great. I have 4 very small ones and one longer one. I had surgery Monday also. Today I was able to move around pretty well. Still have gas in shoulder and can feel port pulling when I move a certain way. doc said that is from the muscles attaching to port. I still am not really eating much. not hungry thank god. im drinking my protein and water through out day. although i did get down a wonderful pudding sf cup today. so far so good.

I was banded on Monday. i have the same issue going on. Seems to be the port settling in.

This is my 4th day being banded and the first day i felt pretty good. Glad to hear your feeling better. yesterday i had bad shoulder gas pain. today almost none. port site is still sore. not really eating. trying to keep up with protein shakes and water. sleeping is fun lol from the bed to the couch, but slowly getting better.

This was my first time having any type of surgery. My date was 8/16 arrived at surgery center at noon. scheduled for 1pm. got all the papers signed and was told doctor running late about an hour. Really not a big deal at all. After about 45 minutes say goodbye to DH and get taken back. Nurse weights me in and take me to a little room with recliner and tv. She then gets iv started. I gotta say iv didnt hurt at all. she also gave me a wonder shot of bloodthinner. burned a little. still everything moving along. about 20 minutes later doctor comes in tell me what is going to happen and the nurse walks me back to or. at this point i wasnt really nervous at all. climbed up on table and laided down. the anesthesiologist sat joking with us while giving me oxygen. im starting to get nervous now. nurse was great she stood right by my side touching my shoulder. doc then says ok here come the sleepy meds you should feel pressure now. yep hand went numb and thats the last thing i remember. at one point i remember being nauseas, then woke up in recovery. no pain no nausea. tired though. after about 45 minutes they took me back to my little recliner room. had to drink 8oz of water slowly. after that walked me to bathroom. went pretty quick. back to room to get iv out. got dressed by myself and out they walk me to car were DH was waiting. no pain that day really. later on in evening was sore. to date 2 days post op i have only taken liquid tylenol for the gas pain. lots of walking has help. I really have not been in pain just sore. i would do it again in a heartbeat. my throat was sore for 24 hours from breathing tube which they dont put in until your sleeping anyway and i never felt them take it out.

Hey Erika...Welcome. I am in the same boat as you. Just finished my 3 months of Nutrition appointments. Just waiting for Insurance now. I have BCBS IL PPO. Cant wait to get this journey started. :grouphug:

I just finished my 3 month's. I have bcbsil also. The 3 months will fly by. Now I am just waiting on Dr to put through paper work to insurance and then the approval!

Hey all I am just starting my journey. So far I had my initial appointment for lap band. I am going with Dr. Brad Watkins in Oak Brook, IL. Tomorrow I have my first dietitian appointment and also the psychiatric evaluation. I have to do 3 month with dietitian for insurance. I have BCBSL ppo. I’m super excited….been shadowing the forums for some months now. Love this site and the people on it. So much great information. Any one else looking at a surgery date in late August or early September?

OMG Katey, We went to the grand canyon about 5 or 6 years ago and my husband so wanted to do that. Once he seen the weight restriction he didn't even mention it till we got home. I would love to be able to do alot of things with out worry about my weight. Like sit on a plane and not have everyone avoid the seat next to me. LOL

I love Dr. Watkins. He is awesome and very humble. Nean do you have to do the 2 weeks liquid diet? What shakes are you thinking of going with?

Hey guys! I am go with Dr. Watkins in Oakbrook, Il. I went in monday for my consultation. Looks like I am going to have to do a 3 month diet before surgery for insurance. Waiting to hear back from center tomorrow! I am 34 and weigh about 300. Super excited to get this process started. Anyone have BCBSIL? I hear that they just dropped the pre-diet to 3 months.
