Hey my  name is April and yes I am a bandster!! Weight has been a problem in my family for many many generations, especially for the women. We start out all nice and skinny but as soon as we have children the weight just piles on and it seems like nothing can get it off. I had 4 children in 5 years and I wouldn't trade them for anything but I would like to take back all the weight I gained from them!! The last two years of my life have been the worst for my weight. In March of 2008 my husband got sick and it took the Doctors a year and in March of 2009 he was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Colon Cancer. The stress from him being sick and taking care of my 4 children really took its toll on my and I ballooned up in size. In September of 2009 he passed away and yes the stress got even higher not to mention the emotional side of eating really took place. In December of 2009 I woke up and weighed myself...260lbs...of course I was shocked and not happy with my weight and I told myself that my children have lost one parent they don't need to lose another. So I tried diets that I had done in the past and just like the past they didn't work, yes I lost some weight but when they were over they weight would come right back on. So I did some research and talked to some friends of mine that are also bandsters and came up with the plan to join the club.  I just got my band done and I sometimes wake up and think "What in the world did I just do?" But I see the change in my body and in my attitude and pray that it will all be worth it in the end. I am ready for this change in my life and look forward to being healthy, active and skinnny again!!!!!!
