Hi, When is your first fill? Mine is dec. 6, 2010. I am a little nervous about that just because I have never done it before. But, I am heard it isn't really bad as it sounds. Congrats to you on your weight loss. Before we know it we will be a totally new person on the outside anyways. Keep up the great work.

Hello everyone, I went to the dr yesterday for my post op visit. My incision are healing really well and to my suprise I have lost a total of 19 pounds since my surgery on Novemeber 10, 2010. I could not believe it I actually asked the Dr if that number was correct. So from my highest weight I have lost 25 pounds. To me that is amazing since I have never been able to do this before. I am so grateful for the decision I have made and look forward to my new journey on life. Good luck to everyone pre-op to post- op and beyond. May all everyone wishes, hopes, and dreams come true. Hi, The hardest part for me was the pain afterwards. I bruise really easy so my stomach looked like I was hit by a train but the actual pain only lasted a couple of days. I thought to myself why did I do this to myself and I disliked my dr at the time. My dr asked me yesterday, How was the pain afterwards? I told him I was not going to lie I really did not like him at that point and time lol. He said most people don't lol. But I am psotive you will do great and the rewards at the end are worth it . Just remember that this life changing decision will all be worth a little pain. Your surgery will be here before you know it and the weight will be falling off. hello, Woke up last night with horrible gas pains and heart burn. I really don,t understand where the heartburn is comming from. Called my doctor to ask what he recommondes for te heart burn. He asked if I was stuck. I really don't think that is what is is because I have been on nothing but full liquid. He suggested I take prevacid(opening the caspule). Hope it works. But a a lighter note I am down to 250. yeah!!! Surgery Date 11/10/2010 Starting Weight 261 Todays weight 250

Hello, I am just wondering if anyone might have some suggestions for thanksgiving. I will be on the puree (mushy food) stage during thanksgiving and I am in need of some ideas That I can use to be able to eat and still enjoy this time with my family. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

hello, I am now on 5 days post op. I expereienced lots of bruising around my incisions and they seem to be getting better I am not as black and blue as I was before. Thank goodness. I still have mild pain but as each day progress it seems to be getting better. I am now on a full liguid diet and was able to eat about a cup of strained potato soup. Which was not to bad. I am happy to report that I have lost a total of 9 pounds since my surgery. I wish everyone who is in the post op stage a sucessful journey. hello, I had my surgery today. Woke up in lots pf pain but the pain medicine is working now. Plwase wish me a speedy recvoe and can not wait to loss all me extra weight.

Hi, I am also schedule for nov 10. That day can not come fast enough. I start me preop diet tommorrow which consist of meal 1 : 1 serving of two of the following: lite yogurt, fruit,ceral, toast, eggs or oatmeal. meal 2 : 1 protien shake meal 3: 1 serving of lean meat, fish , chicken, turkey, etc. 2 servings of non starchy veg: lettuce, broccoli, green beans, spinach, carrots etc. meal4 1 protein shake. This doesn't seem to be to bad. However post op is a different story but I am just excited for my new journey to begin. Best of luck with you journey. :blushing:

Hi, My surgery is scheduled for nov 10 2010. Start pre op diet on the 22nd. Very excited and can't wait for the day to get here. Wish me luck and will post more later

It has been a very interesting and learning experience the past six months. But I am happy to say that I am finished and have been approved for my surgery. I should be having it in early novemeber. I will post more once I have final details.:thumbup:

Well i had my first nutritional assestment today and learn lots of valueable information to use throughout my journey and after I finally get my band. I also had my pyshcoligist evaualation todya also. Was a little nervous at first just for the mere fact I have never been to one before but agian learned Alot of useful information. So all in all I feel it was a very productive day. I am also please to say that so far I have lost 3 pounds. It might not seem like much but in my mind it is some progress.:smile:

Well today I had my first visit with my pcp for my six month diet. Went better than expected. My goal is to lose 2 pounds a week. Hopefully this will prepare me for my life changing experience. Did anyone have to lose wieght before insurnace approved you? I am a little worried if I lose to much weight my insurance will deny me. Please if anyone has already gone through this process I would love for you to share your story. Thanks

I am located in texas and I have greatwest/Cigna for my insurance. I am required to do a 6 month supervised diet, a physcologist visit, 3 nutritional visits and provide 5 years of being overwieght. The only one I am worried about though is this 6 month diet. Like I mentioned before I am committed to doing whatever it takes then again i don't want to go overboard and have a denial from insurance because without insurance I would not be able to afford the surgery and I am at a point in my life where I want to be healthly and be able to interact with my three young children.

It is frustrating not knowing. I really want to try hard but at the same time I do not want to do anything to cause a denail by my insurance. Best of luck to you!!!
