May 14th HW - 321 Day of surgery - 293 today (and for the last week) - 270

Every time I eat or drink anything, my stomach goes crazy. I don't know if it doesn't like anything or is happy to have something. On most occasions, I continue, but this makes it tough to figure out what "full" really is. How do you guys know of you're full? What feeling do you get? And what the heck is my stomach doing?

That's exactly what I do... Eat about 4-6 spoonfuls of soup and leave it alone. Now, what I do love is Popsicles. I know I at 6-8 a day, two at a time. I have the Tropicals, Blue Bell, and the cheap ones from Walmart (which by the way area favorite) and I eat two of each every day!!

You can do it. I'm only 10 days out, but I would try to find a healthy alternative to those carbs you love. Good Luck!!!

What style are you looking for? I have quite a few.

I am 10 days out and went to my first post op appointment yesterday. My doctor told me that each day, you should wake up feeling better. If you don't, something is wrong. Keep that in mind as the days go by. I still have some discomfort on my left side, but every morning I wake up with more mobility. It surprises me sometimes because I can now start to do the regular things like bend over with no problems. It gets better!!!

Do any of you have a blog on blogger? I started writing my blog when I was banded a couple years ago, but then stopped when I got discouraged. Now, I have changed the name of my blog and am back at it again. If you have a blog, I would love to read it! Also, please feel free to follow my blog as well. DId any of you have staples after surgery? Although I get mine out tomorrow, finally, 9 days post op, I am extremely uncomfortable right now. If I or my clothes touch the staples, its stings or burns. I put Neosporin on them this morning as I do every morning, but this pain is extremely annoying and almost unbearable Any suggestions would be great appreciated. I just need to make it through today and tomorrow morning.

Today I am one-week post op and feel the same way. I want this pain to go away. I want to be able to do simple stuff like bend over and pick something up off the floor. There are lots of other things going on in my life too and I feel myself falling into a state of depression. Everything makes me cry and it sucks!

I am now four says post op and still can't figure out how to sleep. I still have staples in my stomach so I know that is had the battle, but if I lay on my back, I feel like my stomach is falling in. Then, when I wake up in the morning, my entire left side of my stomach hurts and is stiff. Any suggestions?

Staci... I had y band to sleeve this past Tuesday with Dr. Kim. Yes, I think I am experiencing more pain than with my band, but for the most part, I am doing well. My surgery was first thing in the morning on Tuesday and I could not have anything until about 830am Wednesday. I did not have a catheter, and to my knowledge, I don't have a drain either. Unfortunately, I do have these horrible staples all over my stomach and cannot wait to get them out on Thursday.

I was banded December 27th, 2010. This past Monday, February 6th, was my 6 week mark. I am not officially on a bandsters regular diet. This is also the time when I am to do my 6-week post op. Well, that appointment is not set until February 22nd... 8 weeks out. That day was also supposed to be my first fill. Well, I found out that the office where I go, the nurse practitioner has left. So, I have to wait until March 1st... 9 weeks out to have my first fill. Is that normal? To me, it feels like a set-up for failure. Please let me know your thoughts...

I just had my surgery Dec 27th and I will be going to get my first fill in a couple weeks. I have BCBS. I go to Baylor. Dr. Nicholson's office is right across from NorthPark. The number is 214-820-8220. Call them and see what they can do. Good Luck!!!

Congratulations!!! Today is one month for me too and I'm super excited. I'm still not 100%, but I'm feeling better everyday. I haven't lost quite as much, but I am super excited about how much I've lost since I learned I was approved. Keep up the good work! I Celebrate my 1 month with a great alternative to a Wendy's Frosty!!!

My doctor's office suggested that and they have been great... I have a set in my lunch bag, a set at home, a set in my desk drawer at work, and a set in my purse. It helps me be prepared wherever I go. And mine are Disney, LOL!!!

Does anyone have any suggestions for liquid vitamins. I took the advice of some people and purchased Bariatric Advantage Vitaband multivitamins and calcium citrate vitamins, all chewables. Well.. I strongly dislike them. I hate the way they taste when I begin to chew them Then, to top it off, I have to take 3 of the calcium vitamins a day... YUCK!!! Please help me with any suggestions for liquid vitamins as I think those will be more tolerable. Thanks!!!

Hello Everyone... I was banded 12/27 and I think my body is still ging through the healing process. I have been experiencing this weird, almost shap, pain under my skin. I think it's where the band is as it is inbetween my port, left side of stomach, and the healing incision above my belly button. Sometimes it can be very painful, especially when I bend over or sit down. I can sometimes feel it when I lay on my right side. I welcome comments and suggestions. Thanks!

My doctor told me no laxatives so I take Benefiber. I have been taking it over other day, twice a day, to keep me regular. It works really well and helps make the experience not painful.

I'm approaching week 3 tomorrow and I'm supposed to be on soft solids. I have strayed a bit, but nothing that I shouldn't eat. In any case, I keep getting this awkward feeling in my chest. I can't tell if its stuck or full. It's not very painful, but it is slightly uncomfortable. Has anyone ever felt that way?

I LOVE CEREAL!!! Can I eat it? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what kind. I know I should be watching my sugar intake so please suggest something. Thanks!!

Hello Everyone! I was just banded on Monday, and so far, I'm doing okay. I have really bad heart burn that comes and goes, but I suppose it could be worse. My problem though, is that I think my body is hungry. I'm on a liquid diet for the first two weeks and that's going well, but I'm constantly getting hunger headaches and just feel blah. I have no energy to do anything. I think my body needs some energy to make up for the lack of food. What should I do? Happy New Year!!!

I looked for the book online but have not been able to find it. Can you give the author and isbn so that I can try to get it? I love the 2 recipes you posted and I love anything that I can make myself. Thanks!

Last night I signed up for a seminar near me to learn a little more about lap band surgery. I have done tons of research over the internet so now I am ready to talk to some people in person and get the ball rolling. I'm a little nervous because I know this is a major commitment and a complete lifestyle change, but I am excited about the possibilities and what the future holds. I welcome any comments or just genereal information that anyone is willing to share!
