Thanks for sharing your story, Thetig . . .helps us know where we're going when we read of those who've gone before us!

What a day to cherish! Too much fun!!

I'm glad you 3 are all doing so well - congratulations. It gets better - really! I was banded 7/15/10 and just had my first fill on Friday. I've been doing really well and have NO complaints! My advice is to just keep doing what you are supposed to do and let the band work with you. Best wishes!

I had my first fill yesterday also! Yeah! :-)

Good advice, Janet . .. and best wishes qtney1! Sounds like you are doing well. Everyone is different . . if the gas sets in, you will know. And GasX helped me also, as well as walking as much as possible to get the gas moving out. Keep us posted.

fool4dance is right - it is a personal decision and research is your best bet - read everything you can to learn what will be required after surgery. Personally, this is the best decision I've made for myself - I haven't had any problems and am doing well on the journey. I started off by saying, "I don't care if the weight comes off slowly, just so it stays off" and I still feel that way, but the weight is just dropping off and I'm thrilled with that. More exciting, though, will be getting to my goal weight and staying there - that has never happened before. So . .. best wishes in YOUR decision!

Sounds reasonable to me to go slow . .. I am going Friday for my first fill and plan to ask the doc. to take it easy . . . I don't want trouble.
-
Good thoughts everyone - thanks. I do think I'll take it easy at least on the day of the fill. It makes sense to me, having read the explanations, that you would want the food to have passed through before the fill.

I'm sorry you've had this trouble, Boo and wish you well. Thanks for sharing your story. Noone can undo what someone else thoughtlessly wrote, but we can let you know that we support you and we care - best wishes.

Oh I like the the way Bklynike thinks! Way to go and Shonette, I hope this gets settled soon. In any case, concentrate on doing what you know you are supposed to do with your band .. . best wishes and God bless.

Ditto to all above! Wow, what a life story, Winks. I'm so pleased for you and 27 pounds is fantastic. Keep up the great work *hugs*

Congrats on your surgery date and lots of prayers coming your way. I also chose to tell just a very few people (my mom, my hubby, and my kids), and after sugery and I was stronger, the first person I told said to me, "cheater" . . . and THAT is why I chose to not tell people! But by then I was stronger and could handle it. Each person has to do what works for her. God bless and best wishes.
