  1. I'm glad you 3 are all doing so well - congratulations. It gets better - really! I was banded 7/15/10 and just had my first fill on Friday. I've been doing really well and have NO complaints! My advice is to just keep doing what you are supposed to do and let the band work with you. Best wishes!

  2. Good advice, Janet . .. and best wishes qtney1! Sounds like you are doing well. Everyone is different . . if the gas sets in, you will know. And GasX helped me also, as well as walking as much as possible to get the gas moving out. Keep us posted.

  3. fool4dance is right - it is a personal decision and research is your best bet - read everything you can to learn what will be required after surgery. Personally, this is the best decision I've made for myself - I haven't had any problems and am doing well on the journey. I started off by saying, "I don't care if the weight comes off slowly, just so it stays off" and I still feel that way, but the weight is just dropping off and I'm thrilled with that. More exciting, though, will be getting to my goal weight and staying there - that has never happened before. So . .. best wishes in YOUR decision!

  4. Congrats on your surgery date and lots of prayers coming your way. I also chose to tell just a very few people (my mom, my hubby, and my kids), and after sugery and I was stronger, the first person I told said to me, "cheater" . . . and THAT is why I chose to not tell people! But by then I was stronger and could handle it. Each person has to do what works for her. God bless and best wishes.
