  1. Hi Blondi, I am not going stir crazy at home yet . . . been keeping very busy - yikes what will I do on Monday when I go back to work (ha). I see the dietician at the doctor's office tomorrow and will advance my food plan. I'm now supposed to start doing the 3 meals a day only (and supplement with protein shakes if I get hungry) - I have lots of questions for her because I just don't see how to get 60 gm of protein in with just the 1/4 c of protein 3x/day . . .I've been getting in some pureed tuna, but can't get the chicken down, it is so dry when I puree it. I'm sure she'll have good advice. How are you doing since your fill?

  2. Hi Jill, I received your message, but since this site changed I have trouble figuring out how to reply - ugh! Anyway, I love Dr. Ringley's office - they're great. My surgery went well and I've been doing great since then (7/15/10), let me know if I can help. Support group meeting 1st Wed. of month at the office. Good luck! Rose

  3. Hey hawyn, thanks for the friend request . . looking forward to reading more of your journey! Rose

  4. Love the new picture! Keep up the good work. You are such an inspiration. And thanks for your encouragement to keep walking through recovery . ..I am doing it.

  5. You look amazing! Thanks for sharing your pictures, it is inspiring to see your progress and the changes! You had asked about my surgery date on your post to my site . . it was 7//15/10 and I've lost about 38 pounds, I think. I didn't have any bathroom scales at home before surgery, so it's difficult to monitor until I go to the dr.'s office and get an "official" weight. In any case, I couldn't be happier. I hit "Onederland" the last week of August . . .which is great, but I'm only 4'11", so I have a long way to go in the onesies yet. Keep up the good work and keep on blogging . . we all love reading your posts! Best wishes . . Rose

  6. Sandra, where are you? This new look to our site is difficult to navigate. Hope all is well with you - where did your picture go?

  7. Darn it . . I had a whole response typed up and hit the wrong button and lost it - arghhh! Anyway . . your pictures are amazing! I love seeing the progress in the green shirt - what a good idea! You asked about my surgery date on your post to my site . . it was 7/15/10 and since starting the pre-op diet, I've lost 38 pounds - as best I can figure . . I did not have any bathroom scales before surgery. I hit "Onederland" the end of August and am thrilled! I have a long way to go in the "onesies" - I am only 4' 11", but I'll just keep plugging along - just like you . . .it's great, huh? Best wishes... Rose

  8. Thanks Debra for getting back with me about cooking the chicken. I'll try searing it for sure. Your recipes are great and I appreciate your daily post!

  9. Hey there luckdog . ..haven't read from you in a bit. How are you?

  10. Hey friend, I am missing you . . . hope all is well.

  11. Janet . .. I wanted you to know that you made a comment on my post that really helped me. I posted my concerns and questions about getting my first fill and was it time . .. I had several responses, and you wrote that "fills are part of the process with the band" . .that just struck me and I thought, "well, yeah they are" . . I am scheduled for Friday! You're such an encouragement - thanks. And I read your post about not feeling well . . I hope it passes quickly.

  12. Hi Eileen,I think your 39 pounds is fantastic. The fact that your weight is consistently going down is great. I'm not sure there is a "should" have as far as how much we each should lose. I really had not calculated it, but since you asked, I sat down and charted it out . I'm in week #14 & have lost 50 # including pre-op (10 #). My losses are a bit lower recently compared to August. I'm 183 at my morning weigh in. I still weigh every day - bad I know, and I'm not going to the gym, but I walk at least a mile every day. I have no complaints. I realize my loss is probably above average and I'm glad for that - I just don't want that to be discouraging for anyone else. I wish I could get to a gym like you do, I know that has to be firming up areas that need it . . I have pretty bad bat wings and my belly just doesn't want to go down as much as I would like. . ..ah well . .. in time! Thanks for keeping in touch! Rose

  13. Hi! I did receive your post to me and now I can't find it again . . ughh! And I did respond too, but I don't know where on earth it went. Glad you are doing well - Merry Christmas.

Thanks copa, glad you are doing well and sorry you're having the pain in your neck . . I have not heard of that, but I do know that we relaly get banged around during surgery. Hope it clears up soon. When do you see your surgeon so you could ask about it? My weight loss has been good . .I'm at 50 pounds - wow amazing. I'm going for a 2nd fill this Friday. Thanks for keeping in touch! Rose

  15. Thanks for posting back regarding my acid problem . . I actually wondered about potassium as I knew that could potentially give this feeling as well .. . I may wind up calling the doc for advice if it doesn't get better. I had also heard that acid could get worse with band . . didn't want to believe it and I had been doing soo well . ..I'll just have to figure this out . .. can't keep feeling like this, that much I know. Thanks again, Rose

  16. Love the new pix - you look so happy!!

  17. Hi Shonette, it's a rainy day here in Michigan which means a walk on the treadmill instead of outside with my dog . ..not my first choice, but at least I'll get in the walk. I hit "Onederland" today - yay. It's not that I've lost so terribly much (I still have 70+ pounds to go), I am only 4'11", so I'll be working in the 100s for a while to get where I need to be. I'm just thrilled with the band and how it works for me. Hope you are having good days . .. Rose

  18. Hey Blondi - how are you? Where are you? Haven't heard from you in a bit - hoping all is well. Best wishes . . Rose
