  1. You know, we all know that it is probably bound to happen . .. thanks for sharing the experience. This is one place I hope to not follow in your footsteps :-), but am fully aware that it's such a possibility. It's over . ..you've learned a lesson . .. .don't beat yourself up. A better day tomorrow. Are you feeling ok now? And yes, "hugs"

  2. Hi Seby, I haven't had a fill yet either, but have read lots of posts from other folks who say it's not bad. And Blondi just posted one saying that they give a "numbing' shot before the fill needle, that sounded reassuring to me. You will do fine . . follow the rules . .. and good luck!

  3. I have a bluecross blue shield PPO. I started in December, had a few snags with tests that showed some oddities and required further testing, but was banded in July.... good luck. I actually was able to just call my insurance company with a form that I was given from the doctor's office. It had the diagnosis codes for obesity and the procedure codes for the lapband surgery and for fills needed later. I was able to ask them, "with this diagnosis, is this a covered procedure?". If the answer is yes, then it is a matter of getting all of the appointments your doctor (and hence the insurance) will require out of the way. It is tedious, but can be done.

  4. Everyone's comments are right on the money . .. I would only add that remember this is a life long journey and I've said over and over, I don't care how slowly it comes off, as long as it STAYS off . .. . that's the difference, in the end you will win!

  5. I am at about the same time frame as you are, polly, and experiencing the same thing. I was banded 7/15/10 and had been losing 1 pound a day - I knew it couldn't last, but mmmm it was nice. Now I've been at the same weight for 3 days and I'm eating the same and walking the same or more . .. oh well. My motto through all of this has been that I don't care how slowly the weight comes off, I just want it to stay off! Keep up the good work - 25 pounds is great!

  6. Sounds like you are doing everything right southern . . .and my motto through all of this has always been, I don't care how slowly it comes off . . that's ok . . I just want it to stay off - that's my main goal. This is a different journey than any "diet" we ever took on. Hang in there!

  7. Congratulations! You will do fine! Does your doctor's office have a dietician who can help guide you? My doctor had me use sugar free Carnation Instant Breakfast for the pre-op diet. But there was more to it and I had a whole sheet to follow. You have to get enough protein in everyday, etc. Good luck! Also, my dietician recommended (and I LOVE), "nectar" which is found on the website "mybariatricpantry.com"

  8. I celebrate your 20 pounds with you - yeahh! Your enthusiam is infectious. I'll be anxious to hear how your fill goes. I share the nervousness of having something get stuck or throwing up - everything I've read says both are pretty painful. But if we're cautious, maybe we can avoid it and if not, we will survive. Keep up the good work, I'm following right behind you and you're blazing a terriffic trail for me to follow!

  9. You are in my prayers. Update us when you can. I understand the nerves ( I was just banded 7/15/10). Reading the posts on this site helped me feel prepared, so when I felt the gas pain, or when doctors or nurses said something, I at least had an idea of what was going on. And yes, God IS in control. My surgeon was a Christian, and I had so many people praying during surgery, I know that had an impact! Blessings to you.

  10. You are so open and honest and I appreciate you sharing your story. Sandra is right, we are there for each other . ..today me for you . .. tomorrow Sandra for me . . .the next day ???, isn't it wonderful to have this support. Hope you can feel all of the positive thoughts coming your way tonight.

  11. The biopsies were "probably" polyps. .. I am of the understanding that a lot of people have polyps . .. they biopsy them to make sure no cancer. I had a scope before my surgery as well (7/15/10) and had biopsies too .. . no problems at all. I hope you have good news soon.
