  1. I actually used pain meds for several days .. I think everyone is different. But yes, walking is like the miracle drug . . it will help move the gas out of your system. I also used GASX. It will get better. Be good to yourself . . follow the plan and let yourself heal. Best wishes and welcome!

  2. You are so right and I think many of us on this site share your pain. I'm so sorry for your situation, I know it's hard. Be strong for yourself. Work your plan with the band and be good to yourself. I don't envy you some tough decisions it sounds like you have in your future, but you will make it. **Hugs** and prayers.

  3. I agree with sandy, I find lots of support and inspiration from these posts, but you have to do what is right for you . . lots of prayer and thought has to go into it. Read shonette's post right after yours . . .very nice. Best wishes.

  4. Thanks suthrn and sandy, good suggestions. I do use the protein shakes . . .maybe I just don't understand the plan from my doc's office, as I said, they want 3 meals/day - no snacks (ideally) . ..but only 1/4 c protein, 1/4 c veg/1/4 c starch or fruit at each meal. ..I'm just having a really hard time consuming enough calories . .. and I'm still supplementing with a 23g Nectar (protein powder) in the afternoon to get enough protein in . .but at only 500 calories, that's just not enough. We have a support group meeting Wed. night and I'll get clarification . .anywho, I really like the idea of deli turkey around string cheese . .mmm I'll definitely try that! Thank you both sooo much!

  5. Daisy, I'm sorry you are having that feeling of something stuck . ..I don't have any suggestions for you . . I did not experience that . . .I can offer you my support and best wishes. Perhaps call your doctor's office for suggestions. Let us know how it goes for you . . .thanks for sharing.

  6. Sounds like you are well on your way PM, best wishes. The endoscopy is no big deal, in my opinion, I've had several and my dad had them every 3 months because he had esophogeal cancer. The way they are done here, you are under twilight sedation - not full anesthesia, so no breathing tube needed . . you go to sleep and when you wake up you don't remember a thing. Hope it goes that well for you. And I hope the rest of your testing goes well also. This is a great journey, welcome aboard.

  7. I think we all had doubts before surgery . . it IS scary. I encourage you to read lots and lots of the posts on this site, I found that to be very encouraging. Everyone is so positive and you can find tips on being successful. The band is a tool - you make it work. Best wishes.
