    Update

I haven't posted since my post about the acid bothering me. It lasted a week and 1/2 and hasn't bothered me since. I really think it was the stressful week I was having. I'm still on plan . . I'm still walking every day . ..I'm not losing much weight. I'm ok . .remember my motto "I don't care if the weight comes off slowly, as long as it stays off". I still believe that. I am considering, though, that it might be nearing time for my first fill. I don't want to rush it. Things have gone so smoothly so far and I'm afraid of all the "what ifs" involved with a fill . .. what if it's too tight and I have to mess around with not being able to eat properly, and what if I need an "unfill" and what if it kicks up the acid reflux again? All things to consider . . I am still losing slowly - ounces rather than pounds . .. I don't know, lots to consider. Have a great weekend everyone and thanks for all the responses to my acid post - everyone was very helpful.

    I'm Back!

I hope you can get with a different surgeon also. I had a bad experience at the first bariatric treatment center I checked into and I know what you mean, it set me back for a while. My daughter was the one who kept encouraging me to try again and when I got to the new surgeon's office, I knew it was right . . .everything has been great. Best wishes, Malasis . ..keep us posted!

    Acid!

Ok, I have put off writing this post because I just don't want to admit I have a problem . . but if anyone has suggestions that may help, well . . I just have to ask. I used to have pretty bad acid reflux before surgery. Since surgery I have cut the Prevacid in half (only one a day instead of 2) . . but I've increased it back up to 2 for the last week because I have this feeling - not of acid in my throat like I used to get, but my chest hurts near my sternum (band I assume) and a weird fluttery feeling . . .I had it one time before surgery and actually went to ER and was admitted .. . after a hundred tests for heart, they told me it was my acid reflux. So I'm not happy that it's back . .. actually I was extremely happy that it was gone! I don't want the acid to affect my band. Anyone else have this trouble? Today is the third episode I've had recently for no apparent reason and I've been dealing with it all day today (ok, so I say no apparent reason . ..it probably is stress related - very busy time at work right now and I was in meetings from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.) . .I've tried adding Tums as well as GasX . . but I'm not getting it under control - - -help me out here band buddies . ..what do ya know about it? Thanks!!
  19. Thanks for posting back regarding my acid problem . . I actually wondered about potassium as I knew that could potentially give this feeling as well .. . I may wind up calling the doc for advice if it doesn't get better. I had also heard that acid could get worse with band . . didn't want to believe it and I had been doing soo well . ..I'll just have to figure this out . .. can't keep feeling like this, that much I know. Thanks again, Rose

    I'm here to help...

Hi Group, This is my first post to this site . .. it was recommended by Laura (my Michigan band buddy). She said you were all very helpful .. .well I'm looking for a little assitance, if you please. I was just banded 7/15/10 and am doing really well. I'm losing consistenly and have not even needed a fill yet. This past week I started having problems with acid reflux. I used to have it pretty bad before surgery, but not after surgery. I've gone back to 2 Prevacids / day and even added Tums and GasX . . not getting it under control. Any thoughts anyone? I don't want the acid to damage my band, plus I just need to feel better! Thanks everyone!

Throwing up EVERYTHING I have eaten today???

I was thinking the exact same thing as sandy . . .stress will definitely contribute to stomach upset . .. I'm dealing with it right now with acid . . have not had a problem since surgery in July and right now is a very stressful time at work - was in meetings today from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. - seriously . ..have been fighting acid all day. Just a thought . . in any case, I hope you are better tomorrow . . sometimes the unexplained things are frustrating, huh?

    Great Day!

So happy for the new clothes size . . .how great! And congrats to hubby too!
  23. What do you mean "if I read your posts at all". .. I love your posts . .. keep 'em coming! And thanks for your kinds words regarding my pictures - very encouraging.

  24. Thanks for the encouraging words regarding my picutres . . you're very kind. Best wishes . . ..

  25. Thank you again, Sandy for your kinds words. You're a true supporter and I'm not sure where your thoughts came from in your last post where you wrote about talking less . . I think that giving an opinion is a sign that 1) you're listening and 2) you care . . . both good and positive things. Just something for further consideration . . .Rose
