  1. Hi shiba. . I am banded (7/15/10) . . have not had a fill yet and don't feel the need yet. Doing very well and glad you are too. What difference do you notice since you've had your first fill? I was banded in Saginaw, Dr. Ringley - how about you?

    Great Support

Good move! You have to have confidence in the people you have guiding you. I hope this new person really "gets" you and can offer lots of good suggestions. My personal opinion is that if the scales are moving down, I'm happy. I don't want to lose to fast and have to worry about other issues (saggy skin, hair loss, etc.), so slow and steady wins the race, I figure. And as I've preached before . .. I don't care if the weight comes off slowly as long as it stays off!! Blessings!!

Everything is going down except my stomach

A couple of years ago I lost 50 pounds and experienced the same thing, the person I was working with explained that the hands, arms, shoulders, legs, etc. would show the loss first and it would take longer for the "core" to show it . . .and that's exactly what happend then and is happening again now with my band weight loss . . . best wishes . . keep up the good work!

    Bad Day

Everyone is different, so please try to not compare your journey with someone elses. Can you call your doctor's office for some tips? It sounds like you are walking (I also walk 30 minutes / day), so perhaps the doc's office can offer some suggestions on your food choices / intake. Keep the faith and it will come around. *hugs*

    Not enough calories???

When were you banded? I had the very same situation when I was at about 4 weeks post op. I talked with the dietitian and she said that it's ok for a little while to have the calories that low AS LONG AS I WAS FEELING OK . . well I wasn't, I was tired and fatigued, so she had me add back in a protein shake once a day (along with my 3 meals / day) . . it helped. I've been feeling great and losing weight consistently. As I've progressed, I am eating more (up to a cup / meal) at my 3 meals / day, so some days don't need the shake, but most days still use it to keep my protein intake up and to keep up around 800 - 1000 calories. Hope this helps, but LoseIt is exactly right - what does your doctor's office say? Good luck!!

    Stressed Out?

Well. . ..sounds like it was "one of those days" - and you know what? We're all bound to still have them (especially if we're working and especially if we're working in a stressful job!), but what a way to recognize the difference in yourself for how you handle the stress - wow!! Seriously, picture yourself a year ago and the way you would have handled today - I hope you're proud of yourself - we are!! *hugs* and better days ahead . . .
  23. Hi Shonette, thanks for checking in. I am doing very well - losing consistently and it's amazing. I hope you have a great rest of the week and I look forward to more of your posts! Rose:smile:

  24. Hi there! Thanks for checking in. I am doing really well. I saw the dietitian yesterday and she said I'm their star patient! The weight is consistently coming down - it's amazing. So, next week is your fill date, do you still feel ready? I don't feel the need yet, but try to stay on top of how I'm feeling, so when I am ready, I'll know it. We are having some "fall like" days here in Michigan and it feels so good - a little cooler; wonderful walking weather. Enjoy the rest of your week and I'm looking forward to more of your posts! Rose
