marw commented on janetsjourneytoslim's blog entry in Blog 75574
That is too funny. Good for you and I pray the court decision went well for you too! -
Good for you! I was banded 7/15 and have no regrets . . it has been a great decision. I encourage you to read lots and lots of the posts on this site and you can learn things that can help before, during and after surgery. Best wishes and God bless!

You are doing great! Keep doing what you are supposed to be doing and you'll make it just fine!! Best wishes.

I think Healthy is right on with her comments. You ARE doing well - give yourself credit for that! Could you make some better choices? The band is the tool . . .we are still the owners of what goes in our mouth. Keep doing what you know you are supposed to do . . .if you're hungry, make wise choices . ..Sept. 14th is right around the corner .. . best wishes!!

Good luck hawyn . . plan ahead and be prepared and I am sure the day will go well. I took off 2 weeks from work and was still pretty pooped my first day back (it was a 10-hour day) . . . plan to rest when you get home too!!

Self talk is the best - no one knows us like we know ourselves! Good job. And GREAT job on the 57 pounds - wow!! Be sure to give yourself credit for that!! Jump right back in there and you'll be going where you want to go . .. best wishes and God bless!!

why staying off the scale might be best for my sanity and motivation...
marw commented on harliquinn's blog entry in Blog 50043
Hey harliquinn, I am still weighing every day and I'm still losing pretty much every day . .. even if it's only a few ounces . . BUT I have told my husband that when I get to the point, and I'm sure I will, that I hit a plateau and don't see any weight coming off, I will NOT weigh every day because I know that I would get discouraged and I don't want that to happen . .. there's so much more to this than just seeing the scale move, but I think it is ok to enjoy seeing it move while it is .. . personal decision I think. As long as you are doing what you're supposed to be doing .. . hang in there, you will get there!! -
Glad thing went well for you once you got past the first 2 days! And to come back and you've lost weight too? That's great!
-
I'm glad you are doing well and I appreciate that you're sharing your journey . . .you're helping to blaze a trail for many of us to follow. Best wishes!

Well . .. all of the above, plus the way my husband encourages and supports me every step of the way -- and I KNOW he is not doing so because he wants a skinny wife... he wants me here with him for a long, long time. It seems more possible now that I'm getting healthier!! Love it, love it, love it!!

Wonderful -- I'll bet you feel great!!! Keep up the good work!!

You're NORMAL!! Since you're healing, everything can change . . .hang in there. When do you see your doc or nutritionist again? If you have questions, call them .. . that's why they're there. Cheer up, you're doing great!!

Woo Hoo!! Yeah you!! Thanks for the inspirational post . . wow - fantastic!!

I agree with everything that has been posted in response - I would only add that every body reacts differently - even the anesthetic can make you blue for a while . . .we're here for you ** hugs **

Yes, I went closet shopping today. I've lost 30 pounds and it was time to make a change. Some of my clothes were just too big - wow, what a great thing to say! And you know, I've read posts on here by people who have said they completely got rid of their "big" clothes. I struggled and debated about this all morning . . . I just can't do it. I put most things in a box to give away (I have lots of friends and relatives who will be glad to get them, I know). But the dress clothes for work that cost sooo much . .. I put away. It makes me a little sad, but I just can't trust it yet . .. I am losing weight, sure, but the weight has ALWAYS come back - ALWAYS. Will the band be enough to really allow me to keep off the weight this time? That IS my goal and that is the reason I got the band - I've posted here before that I truly don't care if the weight comes off slowly, as long as it stays off. I don't know, what do you think? Does this make me a pessimist to think that the weight might return? I hope and pray that when I reach my goal weight I stay there . . . I'm just not sure. For today, it was encouraging and fun to pull a smaller size out of the closet (I have multiple sizes in multiple closets like most of us). I'll keep working and making healthy choices and see where this road takes me . . I'm lovin' it so far! Here we go . .

I'm 51 and I'm not sure they ever end . . . life is a series of good days and bad days and everything in between. I'm sorry you're having a bad day and in my opinion, a once in a while, afternoon in beddie bye is a good remedy! Best wishes for a better tomorrow.

I agree with sandy . . .don't rush it. You could really do some damage . . stretch your pouch, etc. Not worth it. Hang in there . . . food is in your future! Nice job so far - keep up the good work.

Welcome aboard! I know you will find, as most of us have, that this is the best decision you've ever made. Best wishes for a speedy recovery, but be sure to give yourself time to heal and be good to yourself while you drink and walk, drink and walk - :-)
