I've always been overweight. I'm an emotional eater and these past few years have been very stressful. I attended a lap band seminar on October of 2009, but my insurance denied it, saying it was elective surgery. My company changed insurance companies in January of 2010. I was watching TV one night and just decided I would check if our new insurance company would cover the surgery. They covered 90% as long as it was considered medically necessary. I would have to cover the remaning 10%, but only up to $1000 as my max copay. I went to Dr. Turton, went through the steps for the insurance company, and received word yesterday that I was approved. The date is set for surgery and I have never been more excited!
