I am losing my weight very slow. I have only lost 18 lbs so far. I am having a hard time with arthritis pain so it is holding me back from working out as hard as I like. I injured myself working out 2 weeks ago and had to take a week off. I am back now but I am doing walk away the pounds and yoga instead of my total gym. I will start back on my total gym in about a month when I build more muscle and build up my tendons around my knees. Sorry I don't post here much. I will try to keep in contact more often.

I love Dr. Singh, is my doc and you should check him out. I really think you will like him. They have seminars at St.Agnes and support groups you can attend even before surgery to learn about lapband. Good luck with your journey.

I got my 3rd fill 10 days ago. I have 2.5 cc's in my 4cc band. I am eating less and just started exercising a few weeks ago but have done more the last week. I don't understand how I can be eating less, exercising more and gain 3 lbs. Has this happened to anyone else before?

I had my surgery done by Dr. Singh on January 30, 2007. He is the best. Love him. His office staff are great too.

It has been awhile since I have been here. I was banded January 30th, 2007. Just got my first fill Thursday the 15th of March...1cc in my 4cc band. I don't feel anything yet, but I need to give it time. Doc said if I feel no difference or can still eat the same amount to call for another fill in 2 weeks. I have only lost 15 lbs since surgery...ugh. But I guess it is better than nothing , right? AriesGirl :kiss2:

I was given a list of foods I could have during the different stages. On my list for mushies is cheese. You are 8 days out so you still have a little ways to go. I was on full liquids for 2 weeks as soon as I came home, which included pudding, jello, oatmeal and cream of wheat that is runny and tomatoe soup and no cal or low cal drinks. But cheese is for the mushie stage as noted by my surgeon. Ask yours before you eat something or your nutritionist. I am in my 3rd week out and on mushies. Good luck.

?'s for the Doctors in the House... Regarding Meds...
AriesGirl replied to Poodles's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I get my phenergan from my PCP. I have no problem. I am not banded yet, but when I needed meds for nausea that is who I get mine from. I hope some doctor helps you. It really is no big deal to write a script for that so I hope your docs don't make a big deal out of it. Good luck. -
I was told by my surgeons office that my medicare will pay 80% of the surgery and medicaid will pick up the 20%. I was so excited and made my initial visit appointment for December 14th. I am excited but nervous. Now that it seems like it is really going to happen I have mixed feelings. I keep going from really happy and excited to scared of what will happen after the surgery. Will everything go right? Will I have complications? This is such a big step. I am ready don't get me wrong. I am just nervous. I was happy to hear I didn't have to come up with the 20% myself and that medicaid will pick it up. What helped your nerves before you went in for surgery?

Excited and nervous about the band
AriesGirl replied to AriesGirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sunsett, that was a good idea about writing a journal about my feelings and my journey with the band. Thanks to both of you for the support and reasuurance that it is worth it. Everyone on here is an inspiration. I can't wait to post my weight loss. -
There is one at St. Agnes hospital in Baltimore. I don't remember the days or times but I know they have a support group there. You could call the main number and they should be able to tell you.

I have gone to a seminar and picked my surgeon out. My insurance will pay 80%, so I have to come up with the other 20%...I am saving now. I am hoping to have the surgery done between January and March. 2007. I am excited but very nrevous. I keep thinking of all that could go wrong...all kinds of what if's. But I can't wait to start losing weight. I want to be able to walk further and be able to breathe, not get short of breath. I want to be more active. I do things now but I want to be able to keep up with my family. I have been overweight for years and I am afraid of having a heart attack or something. My dad and his sisters died young from heart attacks. My dad died at 44. I am hoping to be around longer for my daughter, she is 17. My dad died when i was 17. My mom just passed away in Aug.2005 from emphysema. It is hard not having my parents alive and I am hoping my daughter can have both of hers for along time. I have been lurking for sometime now and have learned a lot from reading. I look forward to getting to know all of you. Current weight: 238
