Tummy tuck done before VSG
mp8btpc replied to ldydrgnkpr's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Chilo! Good to hear from you, I had a great holiday season and I hope you did too. I read your post about your husband saying you had a nice figure...it made me chuckle it was so sweet. I have not been following the program but I can report I did not gain during the holidays and that in itself is some sort of miracle right? I am back on the wagon so to speak and hope that by the time we take a vacation around Valentines day to have lost at least 10 more pounds. We shall see. The TT took care of like 95% of my stretch marks. When they dissect the skin from your abdomen depending on how much they pull it down and remove they will cut a ton of them off. It sounds like the ones a half inch above your belly button will be gone. The lower ones right over your pubic area are the ones that tend to get pulled up a bit and end up at inciscion level but if you don't have them that low or high most will be removed. If you have some lipo before hand I think it will help them with pulling it lower, tighter and flatter. I think by the time you reach your goal that you will get great results with the TT! -

Ideas: How to Save Money eating at Restaurants...

I went and checked out this site. I am going to give it a go the next time I head out to dinner. Some of my locally owned shops were participating which was pleasantly surprising. I found a coupon code on retailmenot.com and entered it for kicks and it gave me a 30% discount on the random certificate I added to my cart to try out. I also highly recommend retailmenot.com for promo codes for shopping, dinning and for hotel discounts. I made a reservation for a hotel near Disneyland that we frequent and used a coupon code I found on the site and got a two room suite at La Quinta within walking distance of the park for $60 bucks a night. It would have been $80 without the code. GOOOOO retailmenot! -
Yes I read about someone who had her stomach imaged and it was an improper VSG. Her doctor offered to redo the surgery for her after she sent her a picture of the image. She decided after her husband used Dr. Aceves to use him for the revision instead of the initial surgeon. So I would guess getting the stomach imaged to see if the shape is proper or if it indeed was made incorrectly would be the first step and also it would give another doctor an idea of the ability to have it revised or not.

Tummy tuck done before VSG
mp8btpc replied to ldydrgnkpr's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my tummy tuck before I had my VSG. I was around 180 pounds when I had a full TT three years ago. I gained 20 more pounds after the TT and went in for VSG at around 200 pounds. I had the TT after I had lost from 215 (my highest weight ever) and I was feeling pretty good at 180 and hoped it would help me get motivated to lose another 40 pounds. I was tired of losing weight and still having the flabby belly skin from my two pregnancies. I was around 137 when I got pregnant with my first and gained to around 201 the day I delivered. My second pregnancy I was around 145 when i got pregnant and I gained to 207 pounds while pregnant I think. So my tummy took a beating! It was hanging skin and tons of stretch marks that even after I got back to 145 pounds after my second child I had no waist and it annoyed me. Then I gained weight after I started some medications and ballooned to my high of 215 in 2 years. After I stopped the meds I dropped to 180 pretty fast and felt dang good other then the belly and so I had it done. That worked for around 2 years then gained more weight sadly and that brought me to the VSG. Now that I am at 158 pounds and still losing my tummy looks great it is as hard as a rock and I know as I continue to lose the last 15-20 pounds it will only get better. So ya it was strange that I had that done first then the VSG but I don't regret it. -
terrible time whilst in hospital
mp8btpc replied to mr brickwood's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well damn! I was wishing you the best and easiest surgery experience ever. I am glad though that your complications were not of a horribly serious nature and I hope that you start feeling better now that you are out of the hospital. Like Lil Miss said the weight loss is one positive of the whole mess but I wish it would have came without the fuss. Best wishes, sip as much as you can and keep us posted. -

Chilo, yes I had a TT in August 2007 though I was about 180 pounds at time of surgery. I did not do any lipo because I had planned on losing some weight and thought I would do it along with possibly having my breasts done. Well until now I never lost a significant amount of weight so I didn't go through with the next step. I will probably do a little tummy lipo if I have my breasts done this spring. The TT is another surgery I don't regret having...it looks even better now that I am smaller. YAY.

I will be going for my next hair appt the week after xmas and I think my girl is gonna freak out if all my hair starts coming out in her hands! I think because I have long hair it is even more noticeable when it is wrapped around everthing from the towels when I get them out of the dryer to long strands hanging from my jacket every day. I hope you guys are right and that I can expect about another 2 months max of this crud. I mean I love the sleeve and I will take some hair loss heck I cant really even tell in my hair texture because I have plenty left but the hair all over the place is nuts. I am pickin up one of those travel size sticky tape rollers for my purse tomorrow.

I did not weigh until the two week mark. I wanted to make sure I had some sort of chance to lose the dreaded iv Fluid gain. I started having loose stools on day 3 and pretty much the consistency of my stools followed the consistency of the stage of the diets I was at, around day 15 or so I started getting back to normal. I figured it was like my body flushing out all the junk.

Ya makemeheal.com is a good one. I did a lot of research and posting there when I had my TT a few years ago.

Chilo I am with you girl. Mine is coming out in clumps, I wash every other day and when I wash I run my hand down the bottom and a huge glob comes out. Then I will brush through easily with a wide tooth comb and it leaves a big hairball mess. Then by the time I try to do something with it, it is all over my clothes. I am now staying in the buff until I am all done with the hair and then putting my clothes on just so it is not all over me. I sweep up big piles of it from the bathroom floor every couple of days. I am finding it all over the house and even though I pull it back while I am cooking and doing dishes it is all over the place. It is sickening and quite frankly gross to have your hair falling everywhere. Between me and my stinking cat the house needs a giant sticky sheet taken to it to pick up all the hair. Grr ...i feel ya.

I've decided to celebrate my upcoming birthday all week long! I have tried ignoring it hoping I wont get a year older, but that hasn't stopped it. So might as well get on board with it!

Welcome to the forums. Keep us posted on your progress. Send me a message, I am 4 months out and by no means an expert but I am a great cheering section.

I am glad to hear that it didn't go as badly as it could lol. I think you are making strides and I am proud of her for not totally flipping her lid. Just keep making the choices that you feel are best. Only you can know what those are. Good job though!

an AWESOME 10 Weeks so far!!
mp8btpc replied to sleeveorbust's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Yay sleeve it is great to have followed your journey from pre-op until present. You are rocking that sleeve and those boots I bet! -
I agree with Sleeveorbust, it just seems so similar to the stomach stapling that I knew I wanted something different. Plus at this point there is so little data on it I knew I didn't want to spend my cash on something until I was assured of the results. I think plication sounds like a great alternative but the jury is still out in my book. I would never fault someone who wanted to give it a go though. I don't regret my sleeve at all.

Those are all amazing and having bleeding constantly has to be the biggest pain in the butt plus it is just plain not "normal", I am glad you are getting all your systems back on track that is great news. Top it off with losing that percentage of weight and getting off some meds, is never tiring for me to hear. Keep sharing it is those things that are personal to our situation that make them so sweet. TWO THUMBS UP AND A VIRTUAL HIGH FIVE
