I agree with Rootman it is often emotional especially if you feel lonely. Just try to relax as much as possible you are in great hands with Dr. Aceves and his team. You will be home and with family very soon. Keep us posted. -

You look wonderful and I think your loss is nice and steady. Congrats to you. -
Well crud I just googled can catholics use condoms and I had no idea they could not. I knew pills were out of the question but had no idea that barrier methods were not allowed. I'm Pentecostal and I had no clue. Also, I don't know about anyone else but when the pounds start coming off the libido starts going up. It may be easier said then done. Getting creative without having intercourse could be a lot of fun.

Wow that is amazing results. I bet it feels wonderful to have the results you were looking for with a revision! -
PINK holy cow! Thats fun. Since I have lost a good 40-45% of my hair I opted to not have the three color process I normally have my stylist do on my hair every 6 weeks. I instead just used a temporary color from a box I picked up at the drug store. I just thought the less I do to it the better right now. My hair grows so fast that I have to color pretty often. I actually need my roots done around every 4-5 weeks but I stretch it to 6 because it gets so expensive. I thought maybe the next three or so months I can just use this off the shelf color until I see some regrowth.

Do you avoid any TV shows now that you have had the sleeve?
mp8btpc posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was just wondering if anyone else was in the same boat. I find myself avoiding some shows that I previously LOVED to watch. First and foremost-Man Vs food I love that show so much. Now I wont even turn it on there. I am weak and I love good food. I have been missing throwing a munch. I aint gonna lie. Anyone else having to avoid their fave shows/channels? -

mp8btpc replied to mp8btpc's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My aversion to cooking shows cleared up around months 3-4. I get uncomfortable thinking about all the food Adam Richmond is slamming down his throat on Man Vs Food though. Heck I was watching Anthony Bordain on No Reservations and he was just eating "normal man sized" portions and I got off track thinking it was a good thing I didn't have a job as a food show host or I would surely offend some great chefs by leaving my plate full. -
Post op 2 weeks. Help with cotton mouth
mp8btpc replied to Smillzee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it is caused by being in ketosis which is a great news for your weight loss. I think they have some mouth washes that help with dry mouth (nothing with alcohol in it) and you could try some sugar free breath mints to suck on and just keep sipping on the water. -
Everyone Says Something Different!

I would love to see some research behind this also. I also sip when I eat, but seriously it is like the equivalent of two shot glasses maybe of liquid. I don't want to get full on my drink and I want to eat my food so I only sip. I mean isn't it the same as having some Soup or eating something liquid like? Is soup going to stretch out our tummies? I don't think so. If I was chugging a huge soda and eating that might cause it but if I sip an oz or two of tea or juice with my meal I can't imagine the mechanics of it stretching. Just my theory. -
That is a wonderful idea! Congrats on your success it seems you have put in the work and are reaping the rewards, congrats also on your "new" life. Best wishes.

Well, I had surgery in middle of August and my hair loss started somewhere around the middle of October and has been horrible. I have a ton of hair thank god because right now I am down between 40-45%, I turned my vacuum over the other day to put a new belt on it and I was horrified to see big one inch sections of the turning sweeper covered in my hair. I had to get the scissors and cut it from around it. I had a small zip lock baggy full of my hair and that is just what was picked up around the house. That doesn't even account for the gobs that has come out in my wide tooth comb, in the shower when I wash and when I style my hair along with what got sucked into the vacuum and swept up from my bathroom floor. I was embarassed to go get my hair colored (afraid it would make it worse by over processing it) and I cancelled my appt with my stylist and decided to just put a color on at home. So I picked up two boxes of temporary hair color hoping it would go easier then my usual processing and I was freaked out when it only took one bottle of it to color my hair. I always always had to use two boxes even when my hair was shoulder length. Now it is at the middle of my back and it only took one bottle? I hope this crap stops soon or else I seriously will have NO hair left.

I have this dream where I am being tortured and the form of torture is me being force fed. I mean I feel like I have eaten a four course meal after I have one bean burrito from Taco Bell. It makes me anxious to think of being forced to try to eat a huge meal. However I still love Man Vs food and I gotta look up this Pig Out show. Another good show is Freaky Eaters. I think anytime we are forced to recognize our own flaws in others it is uncomfortable.

Christmas gift---Keurig Coffee/Tea Maker
mp8btpc replied to meltingaway's topic in Food and Nutrition
I got my parents one for Christmas! My mom loves it because my dad gets up and leaves house early for work and by the time she gets up to have coffee it was always lukewarm and she would either have to micro it or make a new pot and waste it. Now he pops his in and out the door, she gets up picks her flavor and has it ready in a minute. I think I need to get one now! I am almost 5 months post op and I still get a bit of a burning acidy tummy when I drink coffee, especially if I get a vanilla latte. Occasionally though I can drink some and it is fine, it is so random. I think as long as you are not loading it up with sugar and it isn't bothering you as long as it is a moderate amount it shouldn't hurt. If the scale is continuing to go the right direction you should be good!
